The gods were not aliens from outer space, yo.
Take mother earth, for example, she was often central to pagan polytheism.

She didn't come from the heavens.

In fact, some believed oddly enough that the heavens came from here.

Here's what I think of Ancient Aliens:

life on earth is hundreds of millions of years old
it's a fucking given that we are not the first "intelligent" specie whom originated from here (regardless of all the interbreeding and genetic alterations in our case) add to that a few interventions from outside...some non biological... some stranded... some seeking shelter...others invaders ....
and we have a total mess on our hands.

(not that I claim to know the specifics of each case, so to speak)

Oh, I'm not saying there aren't "aliens" and I am not saying they might not have interfered with our evolution.

I'm just saying, they are not necessarily the "gods".

The "gods" might have been something else entirely.

names for things primitive humans didn't understand
(besides the fact that history has been re-written who knows how many times.)

and, I wouldn't underestimate the strangeness of non-terrestrial life forms.. in fact.. life as we know it might be just a small slice of the spectrum..

regardless of all this, for extraordinary claims..always seek extraordinary evidence. all we can do is speculate....

Also.. one thing is the body, a whole other thing is the soul ..or essence ..or whatever you want to call it. The universe is full of life, everywhere. We are just being kept in the dark, maybe for the right reasons.

btw, the "force" is real that's for sure. It's what I would call God..
The origin of all things everywhere..the river from which all drops depart and rejoin..the ever lasting all permeating universal consciousness. And 'it' has a 'will' of its own. You have free will in the sense that you can act towards or against ..to serve it in your actions or to use it for your own purposes.. but the consequences are unavoidable. regardless of what anyone says.

and given that I'm spilling everything, here's a thought:

immortality would be an awful torment without a partial or total memory loss every now and then....

the pleasure is in learning, or re-discovering

thus the origin of "awe" "ohhhh" .. and the meaning of life itself.

sometimes I just feel like spilling some beans

worry not though

I'm not here to intercede, nor can I make the blind man see.

I'm here to understand things I might have rebelled against before... and all in all, it's going well.

Not a "fucking given". The concept of others being here before us is born of mythology. It's no more reliable than the ancient Aztec belief that the moon is the head of the goddess Coyolxauhqui.

Why are some born to a wealthy family, while others to a poor family?
Why are some born beautiful, while others are born plain, or ugly?
Immortality wouldn't be a torment if we had control over ourselves and all the aspects of our lives, rather than having it chosen for us.
Life itself is a torture. Having our memory wiped each time only makes me think we're put here against our will each time.

karmic laws apply.. and not everyone has a soul imo.. but that's more controversial.. and I'm not sure about it. Also, rich in which sense? wealth? I hope you were not referring to wealth.... and no, Earth is not a prison.....Earth is what we make of it... its a mess at the moment yeah.. but it has its good eras. Earth as well as other life holding planets out there, is a learning ground for souls.. kind of like that quote from Lost

"everything in between, is progress."

we must all make this a better place for everyone before being able to explore the cosmos.. I'd say we are like babies so far.. and babies cannot be allowed out of their cribs without supervision.. it's for their own protection.
