Instead of saying he was shot, say he was murdered by a deputy. More accurate that way.

So the cops now claim he had a knife. Didn't say it was in his hands.

Typically, to threaten a cop with a knife you need it in your hand - and your hands are not up in the air.

Nothing good ever happens when you resist arrest and are holding a weapon.

Today, members of our local media chose to broadcast online unedited video of a man's death. KSAT 12 paid a neighbor who filmed the tragedy $100 for the exclusive rights to the video.

As a result, people from outside our community have bombarded us with inappropriate comments, and today, physical threats toward our deputies. These deputies have not been charged with a crime and a family lost their loved one.

This is unethical and sad. Call KSAT and let them know what you think - (210) 351-1277. If you agree, let the local media know this sort of sensational behavior doesn't fly in Bexar County.

Don't put it past these cops to plant a knife on the corpse. They will do or say anything to keep their cushy jobs.

Wasn't there a video last year of a cop doing just that with a weapon when he thought he wasn't being recorded?

No, this is just good journalism at work - telling truth to power.

Here's an "inappropriate" comment to this sheriff:

It seems rather unethical for a sheriff's dept. to encourage people to call up and harass a news outlet for saying or showing something they don't like.

Actually it sounds like something that may well be illegal -- or should be.

Don't mess with America's biggest street gang -- they'll come after you ..

I guess the cops would have preferred that the tv station edited out the part where they guy had his hands up.

Criminals always like it when video evidence gets kicked out of court - in this case, the court of public opinion.

He probably had a knife in his hand, wouldn't drop it and one of them said "eff it" stupid, I'm not walking over there and taking a shank even if your hands are up.

The cop was probably shooting .40 or .45 which are far more effective than 9mm.

It seems like an infringement on the First Amendment to me --

they are basically saying "we don't like what you are showing/saying about us, so we're going to have our Facebook followers make you pay".

So I guess this means we can call the Sheriff's dept phone number with angry comments too ?
