Polio vaccine was once grown on cancerous monkey kidneys.Of course (cough) it was not known at that time that the kidneys were cancerous. Thereafter all the vaccine that came from those batches of vaccine that was grown on those kidneys contained the cancer cells of the monkey kidneys. Children started getting a very rare form of brain cancer from this vaccine and it even became genetic because it was carried in the cells DNA of those inoculated by the vaccine and it was passed down to the progeny of those people.

I am a lay person, so I do not know if it is still carried in those people effected, but I do know that after that snafu the manufacturing and culturing process were altered so that this did not recur.

With that said, do I think there is a link between the autistic children and other problems and vaccines? Yes- I do, but I don't think it effects every child or person, and if it does, the symptoms are not always the same.

For every positive effect medicine has to offer there are negative ones, ie. side effects/adverse effects and it is a coin toss as to how bad you will suffer if taken.

IMO, we would have more deaths from the illnesses we vaccinate against if we didn't vaccinate. I also think we would be better with more research as to why some children develop problems. We also need to be more cautious of vaccinating children who maybe need to have a stronger immune system before giving vaccinations to prevent complications, and wait until some children are older.
