Moon question from ignoramus
If I were on the moon with strong legs, a trampoline, and a pair of arm gliders attached to my suit like some base jumpers use:

If I kept jumping and really pushing into the trampoline with my strong legs, and I flapped my arms really fast,

could I jump off the moon?

wtf

Wing suit would be useless since the moon has no atmosphere. Perhaps the up and down flapping of your arms would cancel any effect.

I do wonder though, if I bare assed farted on the moon, would it become atmosphere or would it just settle on the ground?

In short, no, you could not. The escape velocity (the speed you have to reach to break free of gravity) for the moon is 2.4 km/s.

Re: Moon question from ignoramus
A science fiction novel once postulated that a crater on the moon could be covered over and sealed airtight, an atmosphere pumped into it, then humans with 8 foot wings could flap them hard enough to fly around in the crater.
If that's any help. A 180 pound man would only weigh 30 pounds and could easily generate enough power to fly there.
Always sounded like fun to me.

You could hold lunar olympics in it.
Long jump about a hundred feet, high jump about 15 feet, it's be weird and bags of fun.
Too bad we can't get there from here, ain't it?
