I was walking to the dentist yesterday through downtown Hull (Gatineau) when I approached a park, Here there were... - About 20 soldiers in riot gear - About 30 policemen in a group chatting - About a dozen civilians with placards at their feet as if they were actors awaiting their cue. Since when does Canada deploy the Army for riot control? And just what and when are they training for?

I was voluntold to be in a B.A.S.F.(Base Auxiliary Security Force)in the Canadian military. All we trained for was Riot/protestor Control. Trust me, you want the Army trained for this...if they had no training they would resort to their lethal training if things got hectic, like they did in our training.
