We've been infiltrated by an extraterrestrial civilization that wants to destroy us. All the conflict between countries and war have been engineered by them. The US government has been taken over by extraterrestrials. That seems like a plausible theory.

It has to do with propaganda and conditioning on the brain. Not allowing us to actually learn, but make fight or flight responses based off fear and andrenaline, anxiety, etc.. The trick is the media has to keep amping up the amount of violence and make the conditioning work/stick.. like all thing normalization of deviance sets in. so turn up the violence, death, war, hate, fear.. basically turn up GLP and keep the conditioning, fear based force feeding going.. heaven forbid people started to learn to love.

I believe the recent string of cop shootings and the blown out of the water hoax shooting of the reporter in Virginia are mostly fake in order to scare the public into feeling vulnerable.The thinking is that if we the public feel these shootings are getting close to home we'll be more likely to accept gun control.(Why do u think Obama legalized the use of propaganda in the USA? Just for this reason.) It's amazing to think that in this country the president,who works for us can legally sign a executive order allowing the govt. to lie to the public in order to manipulate there support under false pretenses for a govt. action that in reality the public would be totally against.
Other than this the lame stream media has always made doom and gloom there top stories,it gets ratings.

I think more people would associate sexual repression as a cultural phenomenon with violence as one.
Other than that sex and violence are both primal urges each connected to survival....

Albeit they are in oposite subset category of an overall larger set ..
Where as some people brain seems to free associate between these sets mire readily...I personally believe sexual repression can be a catalyst for this. .

I caught the gruesome trend after the Boston bombings. The guy wasn't dead, but the man with the leg blown off. They never showed that kind of stuff before; they would have blurred it out or something.
