Certainly one of his longer stories, especially the extended one.. It has plenty of reference to the whole doomsday scenario we've all become so familiar with.. Predictive programming.. Desensitization.. The boy who cried wolf.. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70196009 But they get out. Saved from certain destruction. Except for Nick Andros (played by Rob Lowe). Then the big KABOOM! 9/15 Predictive programming or infinite monkey theorem . My vote is for the former rather than the latter. |

His old stuff can sometimes be tedious as fuck. He'd wander off during 'IT' for a hundred pages or so a couple of times before getting back to the story. Started getting better (or better editing) around 'Misery'. His newest books are smooth, fast reads and he doesn't stray from the plot as much. Looking forward to the third book of the Mercedes trilogy. 'The Suicide Prince', but he has another short story collection coming out first. Creepiest one of late is 'Revival'...It's kind of 'meh' in some parts but the ending is fucked in the head. |

He was one of the most original authors ever. You are full of it. Read most of his books. Twice. Well, the Dark Towers era he did lose me completely. But there was a shitload of good stuff before that. The Stand being a prime example. |

He needs to go back and write an alternate version as Richard Bachman and give us a damn Roland/Flagg finale confrontation instead of killing off his infamous antagonist with a damn 'were-spider' FFS!. Then, throughout LOTS of his other books besides the DT, we're led to believe that the Crimson King is the all-time badass of the badasses, puppeteer to even the entity that is Randall Flagg...and what do we get?.......some batshit looney fucker who constantly screams 'WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" and throws 'golden snitches' from Harry Potter that he bought from the undertaker from 'Phantasm'? |
