Reincarnation

I think when an animal becomes aware of its Self, then it can choose to become human in the next physical expression.

As for humans becoming animals in the next life, well, I believe our free will exists in the afterlife so anything is possible. It's possible to experience as a tree or blade of grass for that matter, I guess. To me, it's quite likely that the Hindu priesthood taught people that they would come back as an animal to get them to behave better in this lifetime. That's just my personal opinion though.

I doubt animals ever become humans in their next lifetime. Their personality is how they always was, meaning a lion will always act like a lion and a rabbit will always act like a rabbit, etc.

my cat

she's never had a kitten, fixed.
she's way overweight and no one gives her shit.
in fact we think it's cute.
she is adored, and petted just for bumping her nose against your hand.
she sleeps any where she wants. and whenever she wants.
if she doesn't like you she can snub you and no one cares.
her poop smells like death and no one gives her crap for it.
she's entertained for hours by a laser.

yeah, i wanna be my cat. i could get used to being all hairy and licken my own butt. well, maybe not used to it. but it wouldn't matter if i didn't cause no one cares if it's icky.
