What book could you not finish... because it was so boring

Same deal with the Hunger Games series. The movies were excellent, the cast aptly chosen. The books were utter garbage, though. Strangely, there is far more depth and detail in the movies and I mean FAR more. Of course, it's usually the other way around! The books read as if they were a rough draft..., no worse than that, an OUTLINE for what SHOULD have been an actual novel.

But the absolute dumb ass book of all time has to be Celestine Prophecy.

I don't get how some people list this book as their ALL time favorite. Apologies if it is your fave

I read a lot but I couldn't finish "Moby Dick" or "War and Peace".

to answer your question, OP, ever tried "hunger" by knut hamsun? no some boring as distressingly depressing, a true insight into a man falling into mental illness.

I even fell asleep trying to listen to the audiobook, and I read about 2 books a week.

War and Peace. Jesus. Christ.

That surprises me. It's not very long, after all, and does have some fighting in it.

Supposedly, it was a big hit among Civil War veterans because of how accurately it described the fight-or-flight response and how being a hero vs a coward was almost completely situational and automatic. They just didn't scientifically understand combat conditioning at that time.

I've been trying to listen to Tom Campbell's My Big Toe .. But it puts me to sleep everytime I start. Bob Monroe's books were great though.
