Is anyone here big fans of the Horror genre ?
Hello everyone.. Just wanted to find out who all here are big horror fans ?

Reason I am asking is because I am a solo artist , as well as am in a rap group that has been doing the whole Horror genre for years..

Basically imagine some of the sickest, and graphically intense horror movies you have seen... put into the form of storytelling in music..

Songs told through the eyes of the killer , the victim, and sometimes through the eyes of a bystander.. Some are tales of supernatural horrors that dwell in the back of peoples minds, and sometimes in their closets.. heh

I think anyone with any appreciation for horror, would like our music..

If it's not your cup of tea, thats cool .. I can respect that..

Thanks
Mister Icepick

Hey Icepick, big horror fan here. Some of the best horror is psychological in my opinion. Barely a drop of blood in the origional Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but disturbing as hell and just plain wrong, really gets under your skin.

If you havent already check out HP Lovecraft, twisted weird shit, some of his writing is scary just because it's so weird and twisted. Insane stuff.

Oh I agree man .. Psycholgical horror wins with me everytime.. heh but on the same hand a lil blood and well thought out fictional violence never hurt no one.. heh.. What alot of people who hear about my type of music don't understand, is that it is purely entertainment .. very much like a horror movie..

I am pretty much mostly into the storytelling aspect... I LOVE weaving a morbid tale .. heh we have quite a following locally as well as on the internet.. (Thank God for the net..)

As far as writers, Im a fan of H.P.Lovecraft ,Arthur Machen, Clive Barker , Anne Rice , Bram Stoker , S.T. Joshi , Mary Shelley .. the list goes on..

Im pretty much a horror nerd if you will...

I was hoping that they would put a horror channel on cable. But no luck so far.

Love the music of Queen of the Damned.

My son got that for me. It was a real treat.

Will check out your sites...my birthday is in October and I love the whole month of horror.

ahhh

I just love the Japanese horroe genre as well. The way they blend, sci fi, horror and music into their films are brilliant, check out Tetsuo - Iron Man, Tetsuo - Body Hammer, Audition, Dark Water and Ichi, the Killer as examples

Hi im a big fan of horrors from new zealand staying in nyc at the moment.
One of my favourite films would be Polanski's ROSEMARYS BABY, and it was quite a treat to visit the Dakota apartment buildings where they filmed the exterior shots.
Quick question for horror fans out there, is there anything else i should check out in nyc that is horror film related whilst im am here, thanks.

My next stop would be the Troma film studios.

I've seen the original Japanese version of "The Grudge" called Ju-On.

I've seen The Eye 2. I've seen another movie I can't remember the name for but it's basically just like The Eye 2 only it's about a girl who loses her eye sight gets it back and sees dead people. Loses her sight again. I think. Awesome movie. Uhmm...Ringu. I WAS going to watch Pyrokinesis. They show a lot of this stuff on Showtime. Which I had to get because my Cinemax on demand wasn't working wouldn't play any movies one day. So thank you crappy Cinemax on demand. =)

Ichi is the shit.. gotta love the Japanese horror flicks.. some of the best around... Battle Royale and the Guinea Pig flicks are all great too

Have you seen the Nekkromantik , Henry , any of the August Underground movies? All are great if you are a gorehound .. I am in process of trying to get ahold of Fred Vogel of ToeTag.. to work on a music video for us .. He is the one who has done videos for Necrophagia.. as well as produced and directed August Underground, and Mordum.

for those that haven't checked out my music.. please do.. I'd appreciate some comments...

Thanks

Re: Is anyone here big fans of the Horror genre ?
ya a horror channel would be nice.. as far as I know it hasnt hit alot of mainstream cable companies yet .. Anyone read Rue Morgue Magazine , or Fangoria?

My group Sycksyde actually got our cd "White Crosses" reviewed in Rue Morgue early last year I believe it was..

They rarely do any reviews on rap oriented horror groups .. but we got a 3 out of 5 Skulls rating
which , (of course I feel we should have got at least a 4 or perfect 5 , lmao ) but 3 skulls is very good in my eyes coming from one of the top horror magz in the business.. who don't get into rap hardly..

But we made the White Crosses album and released it back in 2001.. and it was our first horror album that we had ever done..

Our new cd we are working on called "Make Em Die Slowly" we plan on having released by Christmas..

here is a link to a song off our old album "White Crosses" for you to download and check out .. It's titled "4 Rooms"

[link to mp3download.myspace.com]

ENJOY.. and Thanks to you all for being so kind .. and not shunning me.. because I do rap .. I know alot of people my age (31) and older dont get into rap..

Once again Thanks

Exorcist III is great!

And for you people who watched it, The demonic priest statue at the top of the stars is now sitting in my living room!

My girlfriend hates it and my cat stays at least twenty feet from it at all times.
