One of the strangest questions, that sounds like a leading question:

"did you look into her eyes"

what? why would anybody even ask that question?

what kind of questions are these? is dr. phil mentally challenged?

Mom was probably a total slut. Endless string of men in and out of the house over the years. Wonder how many got up in the middle if the night for forced oral or cornholing that guy as a boy? I had a slut mom that brought men home to get whatever gain from them. Could hear her fucking them in the middle of the night. Some slapped me around. I ran one off at gunpoint that choked me out with my feet off the floor; for not putting the dog out to potty. I left home @ 16 on my thumb with a $20 bill i swiped from her purse. Just read a couple of articles about him. A teen from his high school was willing to do an interview but not release her name or the name of her school. Apparently the school does not talk about the murder or the boy, and does not encourage it (sweep under the rug).

She said he always talked with a "whisper' rather than a full voice, that he kept to himself. She said he did not do the head bobbing he showed with dr Phil. After he killed his mother he ran upstairs to a game room and set fire to the house. His older brother Jason was asleep. Jason woke up and ran to his moms room, and he said the door was locked. He busted in but he saw his mom and ran to a neighbor.

zachary then ran for 6 miles straight and confessed he had killed his mom when cops found him.

The student at the high school said everyone knew he was mentally ill; he was a loner and did not respond to teachers efforts or students efforts to reach out. She said no one made fun of him though, and he played on the football team.

It seems as if he is seriously mentally ill and no one at school checked into it.

His mother was born and raised in Austria and also kept to herself. The dad died of ALS when Zach was in elementary school. The mother moved the boys to Tennessee after the dad died, and cut off all contact with the grandparent on the dad's side. The girl interviewing said her mom was friends with Zach's mom; but that Zach's mom was always wanting to get home to be with her sons. No one had any bad words about Zach's mom; apparently she kept in good shape and was healthy. She seemed to have no bad habits.

The grandmother said Zach had always had mental problems and blamed mom for not getting help; but it is hard for parents in the USA to get ANY mental help for kids.

Zach claimed he had been raped by his older brother and that his mother refused to do anything about it; CPS checked into it and found nothing to substantiate these claims. The older brother denied anything like that ever happened, and there was no evidence physically that Zach had been raped. The court decided it was not true, and was being used as a ploy.

Who knows what dynamics go on in a closed family like that?

But since his classmate, who had known him from middle school, stated "we all knew he was mentally ill" and he had gotten worse in high school (like an adolescent onset of schizophrenia) and was noticeably ''different'' and alone, it is probably some kind of schizoid deterioration of his mind.

Watching his face, his body tone, his flat affect, he really does seem to be asleep while awake. Dr. Phil is asking literal and obvious questions, easy to answer.

Scary stuff.

Touch a nerve? Single mom raising kids with a parade of failed relationships? Keep your dating life out of the home and sight and sound of your kids if you want their respect.

His flat tone and his movements/motor reflexes indicate he is heavily medicated with anti-psychotics and who knows what else..

The boy needs to be in a mental institution not prison.

I've had many family/friends who end up divorced with young kids. The selfish ones look at it as a new lease on life and act like they're 20 again. The kids are messed up. The ones who are notoriously unselfish put their lives on hold and raise adjusted kids. I think having lived it, your point of view is spot on.

That kid hs possessed though no doubt about it. Maybe the abuse opened a doorway, but that kid is possessed. Not like Dr.Phil isn't an evil POS too.

What's up with the tv screen? Why is the 3 stars so prominent. I get its the state flag of TN but a.) It's not the whole flag and b.) It's a tv monitor they could display anything they want.

My bad. When i conjectured "mom was probably a total slut" The post explaining the family story had not posted yet. If it had been there at the time of my reply i would not of posted what i did. I've allways believed psychopaths are made, not born. The tragedy of events in that family shaped that boy. Perhaps @ time of dad's death the grandparent relationship was his sense of security and belonging. Mom cutting gparent off and moving the boys to TN from Austria did a huge damage to his psyche. But again i am speculating. Like neighborhood gossip at the coffee table. "Did you hear about neighbor so and so?""

Just watched part 2 of interview with dr Phil, and then another video where Dr Phil analyzes zach.

In part 2 he asks some questions to see mach's reaction...he asks zach if he thinks there is something wrong with his thinking. zach whispers 'no'. he digs a bit into when he thinks things went bad for him. He said when his dad died.

He admits he is not like other kids emotionally. He has trouble explaining any feeling he has. He admits killing his mother was 'a stupid idea'. But does not feel remorse.

He said his father comes to him at night and won't stop talking to him, even when he tells him to stop.

zach said after being in jail for a couple of months, he realized he was a pariah in jail too. But he said he had stopped caring awhile ago.

Later, in another video, dr Phil describes what he noticed about Zach. ultimately he feels Zach is dissociated from reality, holding in anxiety and could be schizophrenic.

I kind of agree with dr Phil. The guy seems too dissociated from a horrific event and it is so awful he may never be able to integrate what he did into his reality. He may continue into schizophrenia.

If schizophrenic, he may have imagined things, or heard things (in one interview he said his dad told him to kill his mom). It's all over for him though, he is not even close to normal and really needs to be put away in a mental institution.

Or maybe dad was a loser, or dead and mom was trying to give them a better life in TN and got them away from crazy grandma. See, you don't have a clue so stop with your admitted speculation because you were fucked up by your mom. K?

Dr. Phil is rely trying to get the gory details for intertainment. He just a whacked as the son.
Think about it.

This kid needs to be studied to find out how not to let this happen again. I feel like prison is not what this kid needs and why not turn this horrific act into something useful and study him and find the cause. He was a child once, with childlike innocence , was he not loved? abused? or dropped on his head? or what? Something made him like this, we need to find out what so they can treat others that are potentially like him.

They can study his brain in prison, they already do this. There's nowhere else to house violent psychos, no staff, no $. Nice job trying to take responsibility off of him though.
