Re: Best "out of this world" books
So I'm building myself a small library. I'm seeking books that involve contact with alien civilizations, end of the world scenarios, post-apocalyptic, or mind-bending science fiction.

EDIT: Time Travel also!!

I AM SEEKING ALL RECOMMENDATIONS. Nothing will be discarded.

What are some of the best books you've read?

See the list below of the books I have already ordered.

Swan Song by Robert R. McCammon
Abduction by Robin Cook
Lord of the Flies by William Golding
Bleak House by Charles Dickens (because of the reviews)
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick
The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell
Children of God by Mary Doria Russell (sequel to The Sparrow)
The Martian by Andy Weir

Feel free to discuss.

THANK YOU!!!

Secrets of the Lost Races ( archeology). fascinating.

Giza, Power Pyramid by Chris Dunn. Amazing discussion of the ancient power plant.

You will find that what you think was aliens was actually highly advanced ancient human races.

Bleak House by Charles Dickens (because of the reviews)... Bleak House is story about a lawsuit that drags on for years. Out of watching the 6 hour PBS version I got this epiphany about the "law" - it all come down to: "Eventually somebody dies !"...either the plaintiff or defendant ! And, that lawyers make money no matter WHO wins ! You'll see !

Epic.
The universe is basically an animal. It grazes on the ordinary. It creates infinite idiots just to eat them.
