Why is there futures trading when a market is open? I thought futures was traded when the market was closed.

they're pretty close. About the only time a divergence is seen now-a-days is on very low volume days.

no, it does open the night before, but futures market deals with the price of stocks a few months out...if you look at the fine print you'll see it's for futures based on December 2015 contract.

the markets and these phony numbers is just a game a manipulated game they have zero to do with real economic data they do not represent the real economy in any form to know that you just have to see the inflated market prices after qe was put in place the only way to keep the bankers scheme going is to put more phony money in the markets and qe4 will come well before a market raising of interest rates

Plot a chart overlaying recessions and stock market prices.. Then come back and tell me how wrong you are.

Some argue the stock market is a lagging indicator, some argue it is a leading indicator.

agree with both. fake, yet still the tell tale. you know the fed is the biggest issue of humanity. they are an unchecked private organization. they are the reason for wars. you got something of value the feds want they take by hook or by crook. Federal Reserve needs dismantled and dissolved and power returned to the us government. until that happens war continues poverty and wealth transfer.
