RoninMD User ID: 68108902 United States 09/24/2015 12:02 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Trump has now said three things I agree with (the other two being taxing the wealthiest Americans at a higher rate and taxing corporations that outsource jobs at a higher rate than they do now). The problem is that I don't believe him. Bernie Sanders, I believe. But just maybe The Donald's alleged promises to do at least a few decent things (please let's never forget what his stated positions are on healthcare [specifically women's], immigration, education OTHER THAN how we pay for it, foreign policy... I could go on...) lights a fire under the other corporate shills of both parties to outdo him. And let's really hope that our next POTUS actually makes good on those promises. Trump says what Trump's advisors tell him will win hearts, minds, and of course media coverage. That doesn't mean he actually believes in what he's saying. Hell, his net income alone, even after several bankruptcies, could pay for a lot of great government programs if he paid an effective tax rate of just 40%. If you think 40% is too high, look at the rates paid during two of the most economically viable times of growth in the middle class under first Eisenhower, and then under Clinton. Put your money where your mouth is, Mr. "Middle-Class Loving" Trump. If you'd done that for even a third of your 69 years instead of outsourcing jobs, displacing homeowners in favor of Trump Towers, sheltering your money offshore, and STILL filing for bankruptcy FOUR TIMES, I might consider believing anything he says. Good luck with that. BTW, all those things I said are easily found in a simple Google search. You might also want to check out how many times he's been sued and why. Sorry for that. I just can't help but be furious by his holier-than-YOU LOSERS" hypocrisy. All politicians can be and frequently are hypocrites; Trump takes it to a whole new Trump Tower Penthouse Suite level. |
