Raw vid about a minute long. Shows hard working scientists with the latest bug machines. My guess is DARPA is 20 years beyond this crap. What does everyone say?

Reminds me of the things in the Maze Runner (book version) that would spy on the Gladers and record their movements and conversations... And send the data back to their "handlers" at WICKED (World In Catastrophe Killzone Experiment Department)
People who are intimidated by you talk bad about you with hopes that others won't find you so appealing.

Rubatosis - n. the unsettling awareness of your own heartbeat, whose tenuous muscular throbbing feels less like a metronome than a nervous ditty your heart is tapping to itself, the kind that people compulsively hum or sing while walking in complete darkness, as if to casually remind the outside world, I’m here, I’m here, I’m here.

The jealous are troublesome to others, but a torment to themselves. ~ William Penn

I understood myself only after I destroyed myself. And only in the process of fixing myself, did I know who I truly was.

Revenge is not in my plans. You'll fuck yourself on your own.

The perfect spy machine; pick up conversations, minicams showing inside of places hard to plant cameras. More spy stuff.

They do already have actual cockroaches that are remote controlled. They are also working on Nuero controls for mice. Might already have that as well as that was two years ago.

Good one, OP.
I've asked that type of question many times before.
If they had the SR-71 in 1966, imagine what there might be almost 50 years later.

Something tells me they probably have ones that actually look like real roaches...my kids hexbugs look more authentic than that thing.

This vid of the DARPA hummingbird is dated 2012.

My guess is they are probably leaning towards mind/motion control bugs and rats. Just like 5th Element.

And for real (2013)

Yea, thats what i was thinking. This is maybe to throw people off, meaning they might be getting ready for mass deployment of the roach drones.

Good stuff. I do believe "they" have tech far far beyond what they let us know they have. The guy above said sr71 developed in the 60s. Still the fastest airplane ever made wtf!

Mini. That is huge, using a bunch of off the shelf servos, and gears. The CPU is probably just a crappy arm and any MIT grad could build this in a couple months.

The real insect bots our powered and assembled using graphene supercapciror casings, hover like drones, run on 14nm custom ASICs, have high res CCDs, LTE enabled and are as small as a mosquito.

I remember being just a kid and he F -117 stealth fighter was made public.
Saw it at an air show. This guy was there giving a basic explanation of the aircraft. He was taking questions. This guy asked him about the tech involved and the guy made a startling comment.
He basically said take what you know about technology like this plane behind you and accelerate it 20 years and that is what your government has right now that you don't know about.

THIS

It's too difficult to make robotic insects, especially flying ones. It's easier to simply use the real thing, and to basically turn them into zombies and control them.
