Whoa! Frank was off to a slow start!

Frank and the Mothers were on Steve's show several times before Zappa got a record contract. Steve made fun of Frank ruthlessly for being a dumb-ass avant garde performer (hence, the bicycle).

But it made Zappa famous and got him a record contract, so everyone was happy for a while. Then Zappa died from getting the clap too many times from groupies. And Steve died ten years later from an automobile accident. Ain't life grand!
