I'm coming from the stance that the most vulnerable to attacks will be the ones not ready to take one on, if need be.

My mom doesn't think about this topic one little bit, so it took me providing her with a canister of pepper spray to ensure she'd have a tool available, should she ever need it.

It's a catch 22:
the good guys/gals need to be prepared because it is the BAD guys that get to decide when shit goes down.
And who is the LEAST likely to have a weapon? The peaceful person.

We need to change the ways of thinking of the innocent people in our lives without putting them into fear. Fear will only hinder. If you know someone that's hesitant to carry something dangerous on their person, I'm saying it's a good time to get them to try target practice just once. That's usually all it takes to get someone feeling good about it (because it's fun!)

My mother can load, shoot and then reload a shotgun, rifle and a handgun. She knows how to do this because she and my father are a family. They know how to protect each other, and in turn, I learned these things. The problem I have with your type is that you merely expect things. Your kind unfortunately will be the first to drop. You actually think a flashlight with a taser built in and a can of pepper spray is going to save you. Those of us who have women worth having are already doing our duties as a family and protecting each other. If you live somewhere that this isn't possible, my next favorite self defense tool is the flashlight/tazer combo. Not only is an attacker less likely to pounce on someone walking with a flashlight, but if they do try, she's ALREADY got the weapon in her hands.

Staunch anti-gun person here. Not interested in owning firearms- there isn't enough evidence they work when they need to work vs. other forms of defense, and too much evidence they can be taken away and used against you.

If Muslims start raping, it's not going to be white women. It's going to be LITTLE BOYS of their OWN RACE, to start. Who do they have access to? Raping white women is hard and takes a lot of effort. The effects are nil. Raping their own, as they have for centuries (see chai boys for a horrid education) is better. Raping and traumatizing young boys leads to programmable, angry young adult men who idolize their rapists/other men and HATE women. This is what ISIS needs! So if we are arming anyone, arm LITTLE BOYS. That is who will be raped, in droves.

And nobody will know about it until it's too late. Behind every ISIS terrorist is a man who has been fiddled with, I guarantee it.
