Anonymous Coward User ID: 63853030 United States 09/29/2015 08:29 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I think NASA exposed themselves somehow here with this whole liquid water on Mars thing. If there's runoff water coming from the ice on the mountains because there are supposed warmer months, then how the fuck does the water get back up there? Think about it. How long has it been melting? If it's melting you would think that it would pool off somewhere. Make a lake. Does Mars have weather? Rain? If not, how the fuck can the water be running off showing signs of liquid water when it has nowhere to go but down? How long has the ice been melting for? One would think if it were over a long period of time it would either pool off into a lake or evaporate in the atmosphere. Someone help me out here I think this means something. I think NASA knew this all along obviously. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 67481672 You make a good point. If the water is melting then the temperature has to be above 32 degrees. But they always said the temperature on mars always very cold below zero. If it below zero then why is the water melting? . Temperatures can rise to 70 degrees Fahrenheit on the surface at the equator. You are misinformed. Google Louros Valles image released by ESA back in 2004. Now. That was a mistake on their part. That image changed my perception of Mars Forever |

They do have weather up there and even rain and snow. The rain is a lot heavier but falls slower than earth. Rain there falls like snow on earth. Snow on mars falls extremely slow and is magnificent to behold. It's a wonderous place but I have never seen a Martian there. |

There must weather systems fueled by the Sun's heat to push this moisture into colder air masses. There is a cycle for life. African deserts can remain dead for most of the year until it rains and life thrives for a few weeks. Mars is likely no different where water comes and goes. |

But they always said the temperature on mars always very cold below zero. If it below zero then why is the water melting? Uh, no. First of all, it's heavily salted water and salt content makes water turn into vapor more easily (=it boils at lower temperatures). Furthermore, the evaporation rate is increased at lower ambient pressure. Martian ambient pressure is significantly lower than our atmospheric pressure. Finally, water vapor is always coming out of ice at subzero temperatures (that's why you can hang clothes out to dry at subzero temperatures). All that water vapor becomes condensed in the atmosphere and it snows down. Water does not vaporize off of clothes hanging in subzero temps, it fractures off in dust due to wind, haven't you ever made bub le has h? Frozen things are brittle. |

We are being spoon fed the truth, literally. Here's a little taste of water but really they are probably sitting on knowledge of the existence of one or more lakes. I think all of the world's space agencies are in on the rise, too. The idea that water and life exists so close to Earth would shake up the worlds religious institutions and subsequently the global power structure. |

NASA knew, they've known for a while now. Yesterdays announcement of "flowing water" was prepping us for the "Big Reveal". It reminds me of a joke I once heard. A man goes on a 2-month business trip to Europe and leaves his cat with his brother. Three days before his return he calls his brother. Brother 1: So how is my cat doing? Brother 2: He's Dead Brother 1: He's Dead! What do you mean He's Dead! I loved that cat. Couldn't you think of a nicer way to tell me! I'm leaving in 3 days. You could of broke me to the news easier. You could of told me today that she got out of the house or something. Then when I called before I left you could of told me, Well, we found her but she is up on the roof and we're having trouble getting her down. Then when I call you from the airport you could of told me, The Fire Department was there and scared her off the roof and the cat died when it hit the ground. Brother 2: I'm sorry...you're right...that was insensitive I won't let it happen again. Brother 1: Alright, alright, forget about it. Anyway, how is Mom doing? Brother 2: She's up on the roof and we're having trouble getting her down. Fellow GLPers, ET is on the roof. |
