NEW JERSEY POLICE NO LONGER NEED SEARCH WARRANT IN TRAFFIC STOPS
For any sane individual, having that goon Chris Christie as your governor should be reason enough to pack up your bags and immediately vacate the state. Here’s another reason.

TRENTON — The state Supreme Court on Thursday overturned its own 2009 decision on warrantless car searches, broadening police authority to search vehicles based on probable cause.

The 5-2 decision, stemming from the case of a Salem County man who was charged with illegal handgun possession following an unrelated motor vehicle stop, was praised by the state Attorney General as a fix that helps law enforcement.

Civil rights advocates, however, decried it as a rollback of civil liberties in the state.

I predict this will go to the SCOTUS.

Of course, no prediction on what THEY will do--since they no longer follow the Constitution.

Sounds good till the police target you one day. And something illegal magically appears in your car, and all people say is don't break the law and you wont be in trouble. Abuse of power escalates very quickly in my experience.

Your suggestion is a no brainer, however if you are paying attention...it leaves the door open for corruption if needed. It is much easier to plant evidence and pull you over for not yielding at a yield sign....oh I'll search your car while I'm at it....oh look what we found here. See!

It is rare as can be we hope, but it is an available tool in an arsenal of tools available of those that would stoop to such behavior to incarcerate or hassle someone for some reason.

This is what it looks like when you loose your freedom and gain a police state.
"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787

The solution:

A) Put a voice recorder or video recorder in your car. Activate when you get pulled over.

B) Then stand up for your rights - push that costumed tyrant to the edge where he will be tempted to plant something on you.

If he does or violates your God-given rights, you may very well have his job in your hands. At the very least, you can post it to youtube and tag it with his name. The Internet is forever and he'll have to live with his crime for the rest of his career.

Fry's Electronics sells a nice line of covert video recorders, some of them look like pens, keychain dongles and even watches. Under $100.

There's cell phone apps that allow you to record and it immediately dumps the video on-line so it can't be erased by these militarized jack booted thugs.

what exactly is indisputable evidence anymore? if we've proven cops lie and are corrupted, your word should hold up as much as theirs... resulting in a no contest.

I knew one guy once who beat the shit out of some guy at a bar, and the next day the cops showed up at his house based on what witnesses told them...

he said he had no idea what they were talking about and the cops just left claiming they had no proof ...but were ready to arrest him if he fessed up.

Dude… there has been no greater "rollback of civil liberties" than the Patriot Act. For God's sakes, before this Act was unconstitutionally signed into law, a man was innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Here is some historical perspective. Julian the Apostate, emperor of the Roman empire in roughly 350 BC saw his judicial system completely overloaded, with no end in sight because the government could lock anyone up for any accusation… Guess what he did? He established the principle that an accused person should be accounted innocent until proven guilty. Forward to 2001 when George Fuckwad Bush created the Patriot Act, where NOW, in this day of supposed advanced civilization (LOL) you can be detained, without a hearing, without evidence, upon suspicion ONLY…. They can deem anyone they want to be a threat and take their civil liberties away for NOTHING.

My rights come from God. I do not consent to what is called government today. It is illegitimate, evil, and has only one modus operandi…. steal, kill, and destroy… I know the fruit, hence the tree…

Just gonna say this , I have been pulled over 5 times by NJ state troopers . 4 times were sure tickets and was let off with a warning . Not counting the 2 or 3 times I had one pull up next to me and give me the slow down hand signal . With that said my exp. NJSP are very fair . And yes I have ran into a few dick cops in my life . The only time I had trouble or got slapped in the head is when I asked for it . Oh and this is gilt . I made a chick cop cry in the early 80s a Pinellas County Deputy . It still makes me feel bad when I think about it . So sorry ..
