Billy Guess User ID: 547331 United States 09/30/2015 09:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Assad is the President of Syria and has been for a long time. Obama made his Cairo speech, calling for democracy in the Middle East, because he's a retard. This destabilized the region and prompted a domestic insurgency against Assad in Syria (among other countries that went through revolts/civil wars). Al-Qaeda sent in an affiliate to fight Assad alongside the rebels. Then ISIL joined the fight from Iraq. Al Qaeda told ISIL to get out, since they were only supposed to represent Al Qaeda in Iraq and there was already an affiliate in Syria, but ISIS didn't care and simply declared war on EVERYBODY. Assad seems to avoid ISIS on the battlefield, since ISIS spends a lot of time killing other rebels, but they still want to kill Assad. Iran supports Assad. They've been propping up his regime for years because he's a Shi-ite Muslim, ruling over a Sunni majority. ISIS hates Shi-ites. Iran is also helping the Iraqi central government fight ISIS in Iraq. Russia is friends with both Syria and Iran. They claim that they're supporting the fight against ISIS, but it's more likely that they're going to kill everyone who opposes Assad. The US and Israel hate both Assad and ISIS, but haven't done a damn thing about the former and have done quite a bit (unintentionally or not) to help the latter. So it works out like this: Team Assad Syrian Army Russia Iran Kurds Team Hate Assad Turkey Free Syrian Army and other "moderate" rebels Al Qaeda Team Fuck Everything Up ISIS The United States of America Israel |

No one here has any idea what is all going on. I doubt even the actors involved have a clear picture. It is a big muddled mess and it is going to get much worse before it will get better. |

mehitable User ID: 63830259 United States 09/30/2015 12:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's a clusterfuck. Basically the US under Obama has the goal of getting rid of as many secular Islamic governments as possible in the ME so that religious fanatics can take over those countries and convert them to Sharia law (and enemies of the US)...because OBAMA IS AN ENEMY OF THE US. Once you understand that, a lot of things become clear. The idiot Bushes got us into the wars in Iraq mainly to control oil but also to fracture the ME...I'm not sure of their specific goals other than getting control of oil, but I'm sure it's part of a larger goal. Both Bushes ardently worked to de-stabilize the ME, possibly for the same reason Obama has. Because they are actually ENEMIES OF THE UNITED STATES. We have traitors within. So Syria, being a secular state with a dictator Assad at top, had to change to get rid of the secular guy and create a power vaccuum so the religious fanatics could get in. Religious fanatics may seem very unstable but they are actually pretty predictable because of their religious insanity. Maybe that's their appeal, they're somewhat easy to predict and therefore, control. And they don't give a shit about individual countries, only Islam and money. On the other side, Iran and Saudi Arabia are at odds over Syria because they are different Muslim lunatics, Sunni vs Shia and both want their sects to reign supreme. So the Saudis back Sunni ISIS (along with us and Israel) and the Iranians are against ISIS. Now the Russians have a natural interest as this is their back yard - like Mexico and Central America are ours - and they are trying to shift power in the ME and increase their own. They've made alliances with Iran (against US supported Saudi Arabia) and that means supporting Assad over the Sunni ISIS rebels (and let's be honest, most of the "rebels" are now ISIS). So Russia is doing what a SANE US would have done in former times - back a secular dictator to prevent a power vaccuum that religious fanatics would support. Russia is in the right on this both in general and for their own interests, and they are therefore using Iran as an ally. Putin is awesome and Obama is a total traitorous piece of shit. |

Thanks billy! "The US and Israel hate both Assad and ISIS" I don't agree with this. ISIS is clearly a creation of the United States and Saudi Arabia with the tacit support of Israel. They are OUR Frankenstein monster which Obama created to destabilize secular govts in the ME and they've gotten away from us. Russia is doing exactly the right thing in fighting them - ISIS is a proxy war with the US - and in using Iran and possibly China as allies against the US and Saudi Arabia (and Israel in the back seat). |
