help needed in plumbing

You need a basin wrench. easier to look it up than for me to explain it.

i tried to use one of them but the nut is just a bit bigger than the end of the basin wrench

Basin wrenches are hinged at the top and open up to fit all sizes. You might not have the clearance around the nut t fit the head of the wrench. You might have to remove the sink to get at it unfortunately.

Look for an adjustable wrench of suitable size in your nearest shop.

i have both types of wrench but the bend one no clearance but the odd spaner with legs is just not big enough

i dont want to remove sink but was thinking what do the pipe freeze stuf do could i snap it and not damage ceramic sink

If you can, remove the pipework from the bend/'t' piece up to the tap. Soak the nut in WD40 or PlusGas overnight and then see if you can grip the nut enough to turn it.

It is possible the nut and pipework were fitted to the sink before installation if there is very little room. In that case you will need a thin wall box key (spanner) to fit over the outside of the nut which you can do if you have removed the pipe. good hardware shop or plumbers' merchant should have one.

Take a pipe wrench and turn counter clockwise until you hear a snapping sound.

Then go down to your hardware store and buy a new facet.

Then suck it up and go for the gold

The right tools are essential

Robogrips work very well

Better have some good muscle though

nothing to bad just cut the damed thing of with a hacksaw as nothing else would move it

Been there done that to remove an old toilet seat

They make sweet little jigsaws you can buy at dollar store
