It is an ignorant statement, but by no means representative of how blacks think. I've heard a similar statement from a white girl who said, "I'm not racist, I like black people more than white people!" I had to laugh at that.

I took a diversity class that explained it this way. An "ism" implies power, so a bigot in a position of power would be a racist.

Guess you need a word for that situation. OK by me.

Because it sucks to be black. It is the worst form. They are about to pomp themselves out of existence in Africa.

They only flourished under the white man. Go figure!!

A black person can be just as racist as a white person if they hate a race besides caucasians (such as asians). The guy who said he wasn't racist is crazy.

Hmm.

Now, what exactly is the difference between a honky and a cracker?

One's more redneck, is my guess.

Which makes no difference to me one way or the other. I was just talking.

We are really all the same.

People use all kinds of terminology to express their feelings. Could it be that what he meant to say (as he expressed in the "vernacular") was that living in a predominently "white" nation where "coloured" people are often subjected to prejudice etc. he feels that a "black" person cannot make any derogatory remark about "white" people and get away with it?!

Let's face it, "white" people (generally speaking) don't take too kindly to criticism by minority groups of any kind.

I can remember during the OJ Simpson trial that there were those who said OJ was guilty must be a racist. I still want to know what denotes racism.
