Then that would make alot of blacks racist because many hate our white culture.

We have to be able to discuss race because when I hear things like I heard this guy say, it becomes obvious that there is a race problem that must be addressed.

Re: I just heard a black on radio say " I ain't racist... I'm black and it is impossiible for a black to be a racist."
People use all kinds of terminology to express their feelings. Could it be that what he meant to say (as he expressed in the "vernacular") was that living in a predominently "white" nation where "coloured" people are often subjected to prejudice etc. he feels that a "black" person cannot make any derogatory remark about "white" people and get away with it?!

Let's face it, "white" people (generally speaking) don't take too kindly to criticism by minority groups of any kind.

Have you ever heard of "affirmative action"... or "race based set asides" in business? This is no longer the fifties my dear.... much has changed and the pendulum has swung the other way!
 Quoting: Enlightened George

Yes, I have heard of "affirmative action", but where I live (not in the USA like you and the "black" person about whom your thread refers) "affirmative action" relates mainly to women wanting equal rights in the workplace. In reality, it carries little weight in giving the Aborigines or any other non-white minority group the rights which we "white" people take so much for granted.

"Race based set asides" in business? Never heard of the term over here.

You are obviously seeing this issue from the perspective of a "white" American, and I respect that.

A black person can be just as racist as a white person if they hate a race besides caucasians (such as asians). The guy who said he wasn't racist is crazy.

Let me get this straight. If a black person hates any other race...except the white race... then he could be a racist. i.e. it isnt racist to hate whitey?

ok, here goes .... your thread quoted what someone else said. I guess, to understand what THEY feel the definition of a racist is you would have to ask them ...

I assume that a black person would make that kind of statement because thier definition of "racist" is a reflection of their feeling of being out of power.

So, a racist is a bigoted person that is from the group the is in power. So, I guess in Zimbabwie black could be racists and practice racism.

Why people are so pre-disposed to skin color is beyond me..

I'm a skinny white female with blond hair and I hate what the Germans did. While some of you reading this may think that that didn't happen, I disagree.

We are all the same.

It's impossible for a black to be racist. Ha, ha, ha. That person doesn't even understand the concept of racism, because I've been on the receiving end of racism by the black race. AND I didn't deserve it! I've had rocks thrown at my car while driving down the wrong end of town. I've been yelled at and screamed at. Racism is NOT limited to one group of people.

Ask the whites how they fared in the 60's when segregation first began. They had to hold books up in front of their bodies just to make it to the next class. The buses had to be armed with policemen.

my advice to all the "white people" like me is ... when you hear a statement like the thread, don't take is personally - the person that said it doesn't know you. try to figure out what they mean - ask what they mean - listen to what they say - see thing through others eyes ..

Perhaps I should chime in here before this line of inquirey(I think thats how you spell it?!?) get's into name calling. You see, IMO racist whites seem to think that they are the master race. Many have been taught to think in this way. From early on it has been drilled into a great many that your ancestors brought "light" to the world, and one needs only look at the "facts" and "proofs" like Jesus and education, the buildings for christs sake, the proof is in the pudding. And many do, because they want to believe such a thing and because there history books concure, well it must be true. Many whites believe this from an early age, you see. Many whites believe this.

Blacks have not had this posture, ever, it is a relatively new concept. In fact this superiority complex is a rather new development in the capacity that it has evolved into in all humans. Blacks mainly have taken a defensive stance, they have looked from the outside in on a society that has been hostile and in reaction, with limited resources, have tried to create a response.

A great many are still realing from an almost constitutional view that they are not even human, you see, perhaps more than you can imagine right now, but perhaps the opprotunity to learn as they did may be nigh.

In order for them to see racism in the light that you see it and comprehend it, they would need to eclipse themselves as far as the heart goes, they would need to dwell more in the head, if you will.

In order to see what is necessary in your quest to understand racism, you must first be able to locate it within yourself to begin with. I do not say this in judgement dear EG, I say this in truth.

There is a gene within the white group that is more reptilian than any of the races of men. A gene that may have caused them unwittingly to fall prey to the lower natures of greed and avarice, of pure intellect(seperation) and of hate that may have been preyed upon by those who were seeking such a host(an "outside group").

Please do not take what I'm saying as an excuse for any group, be they black or white, however, I sense that it is the task of the white group to not only understand what racism is, but to heal that which has been set into motion by understanding it through themselves. They must accept the opprotunity to re-evaluate what they have learned in all ways.

Maybe he can't be racist against other blacks, but if he disparages any other race, he's a racist.

What a fucking clown. He reminds me of a Jew that says you're one of these inexplicable "anti-semites" (so fucking what?) if you utter a single word of criticism towards them no matter how evil they are.
