I have a gut feeling this interview was staged, From the look of Charlie, that appears as if he is a senior cia agent.To the line of questioning that is right out of the cia interrogator hand book. FYI there is are special rules for Interrogating diplomats. Without there consent. You watched that on 60 mins.

The questions were designed based on answers already known.
They wanted Putin to know. That we are able to get information about his intentions. That is why the question about ground troops was asked.

The line of questioning suggests that the U.S. knew of a plan to put troops on the ground by Russia, Into Syria.
