Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70461706 What if instead of 4 "SkyKing SkyKing Do Not Answer", they just say "Abundant"? Abundant, is new to me. Never heard them use that. So, I reckon it's a change in SOP doctirne, it's misinformation to toss off any potential code-cracking (50/50 on that), or it's some type of enhanced code to signify a higher authority from SAC to give greater credence to all Airborne Alert birds. I cannot think of anything else on the callsign at this time. All I can say is that lots is happening. @ Bes Maat, the SKYKING callsign is not to USAF conventional unit. It's towards strategic units. I don't understand what is the difference between conventional and strategic unit? @ the arabic parts...can anyone post here what they hear? Maybe I can understand something. Kinda hard to explain.... I'll try, with english being my 2nd language this is what I would think. Conventional are regular forces with regular weapons, including nuclear. Basically what is known as "THE Military" of a country and their weapons. Strategic is covert stuff? Undercover, special forces, CIA, weapons nobody knows anything about...and maybe in cooperation with mentioned forces from OTHER countries? People still haven't learned to look past the MSM hype during any major event and instead inform themselves. Press Freedom doesn't exist, only the few in charge of this theater have the freedom to form your opinion by spreading their version of events. Be careful guys! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 61877188 Was hard to make out what they were (make, country of origin) since they appeared even at the low altitude they were flying (like I said, damn near skimmed the top of my city) that they must have been doing about 1000-1500mph. This NEVER happens here, I repeat NEVER happens. Back when I lived near Louis-McChord in Washington I wouldn't have thought twice about it but not where I live now. I think southern Illinois is the closest air force base and they NEVER send anything up our way like that. What are you talking about... there's an AFB in Madison, WI it is an air national guard base.not the same thing.dont think their training at night |

Luxen User ID: 68852339 United States 10/04/2015 09:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The SKYKING calls go out in military phonetics. SKYKING is USAF SAC Airborne Alert birds flying to their fail-safe points unless otherwise ordered via the codes transmitting a go-code/valid strike war order to proceed past their positive control points. Quoting: NobleSix The basics runs as follows: 1.) USAF SAC bases like Offut sends out the daily SKYKING orders on routine to keep things bother calm and orderly. Nothing fancy. 2.) All codes are recorded by the Co-Pilot, Emergency War Order Officer (EWO-O) and Radar Officer on board (B-52's as an example) for positive verification through their individual decoder/decryption books. This is to determine if the launch from base when the alarm goes off is valid or they simply shutdown from a drill. Those in the air are all-ready on stand-by at this point awaiting the second set of orders. 3.) Should everything be a go and is valid the other orders comes while airborne for immediate decryption. Once the Co-Pilot and EWO-O agree on both their set of codes and the physical code given out of the mini-safe, the card with the codename on it is broken by the Co-Pilot and is formally announced to the crew and they proceed to their assigned strike targets unless otherwise recalled. In the case of the land-based SAC missile silos, the two Officers conduct same operation as their airborne counterparts in terms of decoding. Should the codes prove as valid, both Officers immediately go to their mini-safe, break the card to confirm the order, and get their keys ready to undergo launch procedures for their ICBM's. It's about accuracy and speed and neither Officer can afford to have a gaggle on the others end because the launching of an ICBM MUST be done simultaneously, otherwise zero launch happens and someone gets a bullet to the head for failing to do their part (unless they no longer arm the Missile Launch Officers), I cannot say for sure. That's essentially how it works. NOTHING on what I mentioned here is in anyway, classified. This has been USAF SOP for decades. Only the technology and methodology has changed to any degree. In terms of the USAF's USN counterparts, the codes go to the TACCAMO birds from NAVCOMSUBPAC and NAVCOMSUBLANT. The USN Ohio/Trident Boomers go to their respective radio depths with their antenna arrays out to receive any EAM's on routine much like their USAF counterparts. The Emergency Action Message is what all U.S. Strategic Nuclear Forces follow when issued. The principles are the same, but the targets are different for obvious reasons. The boomers cannot allow themselves to discovered in their patrol sectors. Being detected by enemy HK attack subs like an Akula or Alpha isn't an option. When the TACCAMOs issue out the codes, the CO, XO, and Weaps Officer decodes the transmission and should it be valid, they sail to their assigned strike sector and reach missile launch depth, unless their orders are to be recalled and told to stand down, whoever is on the receiving end will have Tridents coming down on them. Here's the kicker on the USN part, should the TACCAMOs birds receive and/or send conflicting orders, the boomer commander has the authority to launch his payload at assigned strike targets. Why? To the commander, he must assume the WH, Pentagon, JCS, or civilian government authority has been compromised, destroyed, or C3 elements have been taken over. Is that still the SOP? Unknown. Again, none of what I have mentioned here on GLP is considered classified information, this is to my reckoning, SOP for all U.S. Strategic Nuclear Forces. I hope this answers any queries on how the EAM's work and why they use it. Understand this, our Russian and Chinese counterparts no doubt have similar SOPs in place to ensure complete and total security of their respective strategic nuclear forces. Stay frosty. They are monitoring unscrambled US Military communications for signs of variances from the norm. New call signs and situations have been heard this evening. "Nobody gets out of here alive." On certain amateur radio frequencies, you can hear the USAF call out, on routine or emergency, to their Airborne Alert aircraft at are part of the USAF Strategic Air Command. These birds carries "specials" aka nukes on them. They fly to their fail safe/positive control points awaiting orders for conducting an actual valid order for a nuclear response from National Command Authority. Basically, the hang here are revealing what frequencies you can listen to SAC communicate with their birds aka SKYKING, but you will not hear SKYKING report back to them. These are one-way transmissions. All decoded/decrypted on board the planes. It's something of a HAM operator novelty. It takes some getting use to. Hope that helps some.
