We Repair - Boston Area" |
Popo21 User ID: 52402117 Canada 10/05/2015 07:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Its a scam and rarely yields results. I do digital marketing for about 10 prettt large companies and Google has the highest costs with lowest returns of any advertising method. Advertise on Kijiji and Craiglist multiple times a day (and whatever other sites like that may be relevant to your area/industry), advertising on FB is pretty decent if you have a good grasp on your target market ($5 a day can reach about 1500 targeted ppl in your region) and writing SEO optimized blog posts about your business will help you get to the top of search rankings if there is not huge competition. |
smal business owner with ? (OP) User ID: 70068212 United States 10/05/2015 10:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | do you "specialize" in anything, you may try working around the edges, creating campaigns using special keywords only and avoid all the obvious keywords like overhead door repair install. just to throw off the competition from clicking or flagging, using adwords takes time to tweak and lots of ad A vs. ad B testing. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 55229531 here is something free, go to ebay, yes ebay. open an account, then open a "ebay store" for $15 a month. Name your store example> "Boston Area Overhead Garage Door Install and Repair", not your real business name. Then list a few cheap brand name parts , like hinges, example "2 Todco Whiting Overhead Garage Door Repair Hinges 2 day ship to Boston Area" Within your ebay listing, place you real business name/info. Ebay does NOT allow direct hyperlinks , www.xyz.com, or the like, but you can say " just Google Boston Brian's Door Repair" . you can use your Real Business Logo within a photo logo for your ebay store. This will get you out there on google search the quickest for little $. Next do the same thing at Youtube. Never put your real business name as your account name, instead you MUST use the most important search terms as your name , like you name should be> Boston Garage Door Repair, or as many similar words that will fit, Make-up a few vids using your real logo and name in the video graphics, every short video you make the title must include some variation of "Boston Area Overhead Garage Door Install and Repair". The next is important, the first line of the video description must be youe website address, exactly like this example [link to www.yoursite.com.] Also youtube lets you assign keywords to your video. you are doing this because there is a VERY chance google will show your VIDEO listed on the first page of a general google search for garage door repair boston. This is not an ad, so it can't get flagged, and can't get click-scammed and you don't get charged for clicks. Ebay and youtube search engine are giant. btw, this is just crash course basic info. These are easy and nearly free, and if you get good at it, you will NEVER pay for ads again. btw there are apps that will automatically direct post both of theses to your facebook site Wow! Thank you! This is really good advice, I am going to try all of these things...will update in a few weeks with result. Thanks to all for the help! :) |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 30551131 Canada 10/05/2015 11:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I tried it with little success. For several different projects, including some market research. They gentleman gong on about ebay and youtube sounds like an intelligent person. Don't waste your money, especially if you are a small businessman. I find the most effective routes for getting business fast are referrals ( from your network) and cold calling. |
Doomy Tunes User ID: 56427994 United States 10/05/2015 11:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I once worked for a CD replicator when "replicator" went for several dollars per click. Quoting: Doomy Tunes mesothelioma was going for $200 per click. Got to love those Ambulance Chasers. My jaw hit the ground at least TWICE when I read this!!! I thought $6-8 was super high to bet for a click (and that is my local market...worse then a $5 blackjack table at the local casino-where you at least have 50/50 odds) to spend for someone to simply click your ad...it's not a referral fee, where you are guaranteed business...simply just paying someone to click your ad. But $200 a click? Is completely beyond comprehension... But then wait? WHAT? For the key word "mesothelioma?" No words... I paid 110-125 for "Foundation Repair" on Sat-Sun. Average job was $10k. It was fun blasting over 1k/minute from ambulance chasers. |
LADY ENIGMA User ID: 46711296 United States 10/06/2015 12:23 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | While I have had limited experience with GAW, I have a Quoting: Anonymous Coward 67046660 close friend who has used it with tremendous success. He has previously indicated that it takes a little work to master the implementation but, in general, if you put in the effort you can do very very well. There are training courses that can be purchased to facilitate this process. Check this thread later today. I will find out what he recommends and post his response. Thank you for your reply and your help. Everyone I know tells me to use "google". However my experience in using it, I found myself deep inside this matrix of a very un user friendly program completely lost. Any advice is appreciated. OP, if you're still reading your thread... I do internet marketing for a local business. Although we still pay for limited Google AdWords, it's very likely your competition is clicking on the ads. That's a very common problem. If you don't have someone setting up a campaign for you, you may not be aware of all the ins and outs. One example is setting a day and times your ad will run, in a particular area. If you are on a limited budget, a better way to gain exposure is to add your business to all of the free online sites, like YellowPages. There are many like it. Then make sure you add your business to the free Google listings. Once you get everything up and running, you will want to add customer referrals on a regular basis. (This is what customers read anyway.) Once you get this all up and running, which will take a little time, you can manage it about once a week. Do you have a website? Even a small website with a few pages is needed to link to these free listings. I could say a lot more, but, this should give you an idea. Good Luck! ENIGMA |
