How people react depends on how brainwashed we all are. TPTB seem to think that people will yell but not do anything. You can possess them but they must be registered. But they don't call it a registry because they know there is existing US code making that illegal. It's still an illegal registry but with weasel words attached to it. Then they went after the businesses that they could no longer sell "assault weapons" or magazines greater than 10 rounds because they knew they couldn't target individual citizens. Please, let them try going house to house to get 300 million guns. Buybacks don't work. Making possession an unenforced felony doesn't work. So they nibble on the edges, hoping that in a generation they'll make headway. Good luck. That black rifle you have in your closet will likely be operational well into the 22nd Century - same with the ammo. WWII surplus ammo shoots just great today. The only way they could enforce a complete confiscation is through technology. Send out droids with synthetic aperture radar to scan people's homes. Possible but highly expensive today; perhaps not in 2030 AD. |
