Any of you fine folks ever ride a horse before?

After grown up riding motorcycles having something between my legs (ladies....) that I wasn't in control of was freaking me out at first.

I have lived in Texas my whole life. So yes.

But horses treat me like ...um..like they always need to be pullin pranks if I'm on their back so we just end up playin tag in the yard.

I slap their heiny and start running. When they get close enough they rare up and turn around and I'm supposed to tag them next.

It's fun, as long as the horse is well trained.

My parents kept mostly wild Arabians, and they were a pain in the ass.

Ive seen a farrier fight wars to shoe a horse and then

asked them, how do you hang on?

They say if you let go you will never shoe them

The last time I went horseback riding, my horse got spooked, took off for the barn at full speed and almost decapitated me. I havent rode one since.

This afternoon I had the opportunity and the urge, I couldn't resist.

I was at the boyfriends barn, the horses were finishing up their evening snack. I went in the pen, grabbed one by the halter and started looking for a bridle in the barn. There was not one, there wasn't even a lead rope around!

I finally found and unopened package of what I would call heavy gauge string, looped it around the halter and hooped on! All while the boyfriend, who isn't much of a rider, was saying you're not going to ride her like that are you, repeatedly.

Just rode around for about 10 min. while I got my horse riding fix.
