Anti-gun activists are outraged and in disbelief at the comments by Dr. Ben Carson regarding the Oregon shooting.

I really respect the fact that Dr. Ben Carson does not worry about how he will sound to others. He says what he thinks without any apologies.

One of the many comments he made about the Oregon shooting was he thought every teacher should be armed. He said that every bullet he had taken from a patient was a tragedy but not like the tragedy of gun confiscation.

This is another example why Carson won’t have much of a chance to get elected. He’s too honest and speaks the truth. There is no political future for someone like that.

People who are dedicated to educating children now need firearms to protect their students....Maybe you think that's something to be proud of. I think it's tragic. Arming educators may well be necessary but how the hell did we arrive at such an appalling situation?

I've not been to UK in maybe 5 years, but I do recall that London cops carried pistols, appeared to be either Glocks or H&K. Hell, even the petite women cops had a pistol on their hip. Saw plenty carrying tac rifles with optics too, looked like MP5s.

Are the regular UK police pussyfied and only the City police are trusted to carry the right tools for their job?

looks like you're pretty much standing alone on your opinion. You're right it is appalling. For an outsider I had trouble wrapping my head around the mentality of Americans. I'm not against hunting rifles but to have hand guns and automatic weapons is ridiculous. With all the pharma supplied nut cases that are doing most of the killing, one has to wonder why the government hasn't started with that. If I was to go to the doctor with a medical condition that could or does effect my ability to drive a car, the doctor has the power to take my license away. It should be the same for those people that have been prescribed a psychotic drug.
