NASA confirms massive asteroid is on course for a close encounter with Earth within hours | |

Why does horse shit from msn get pin? Probably for the same reason the other thread with the real but very small chance threat got a bunch of unpin requests. Reality is boring. Not really. If you count the ever higher number and widespread college and university shootings, Astromut, reality is far from boring. Especially if you see how and why. Besides, Astromutt, if an asteroid did hit the Earth and was an ELE then you'd most definitely would be out of a job. Sorry, I should have qualified my statement. Real astronomy is boring to most people. They much prefer fantasy. |

Then you haven't been paying much attention, because everyday there are hundreds of potential threats that we know of. [link to neo.jpl.nasa.gov] Every single asteroid on that list has at least an order of magnitude better chance to hit earth than the piece of crap I'm talking about. It's interesting that the estimates of the size of this thing is exactly the same as the announcement in that movie "Deep Impact"--that was such a great flick. Might watch it again today to get in the mood. Remember we have just been through 2 days of very high solar winds and geo-magnetic storms. Who knows if those solar winds might affect the trajectory or even break it up into smaller pieces. Even a little "chip-off-the-old-block" would be bad news for us. Just sayin. Cheers! Keep in mind that is for 2015 HR182, NOT this distraction of an asteroid. To be clear, this thread is complete bullcrap and a distraction. |

Just wow. If there's a conspiracy here it's that this story was created to give a distraction from a real potential threat. Dr Astro saying actual doom from space is a possibility?
