Anonymous Coward User ID: 61629439 United States 10/11/2015 10:21 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Furnace used in glass making factories burn continuously for 10 years. That is 24 hours a day because if the furnace cools down then liquid glass mixture in it will turn solid and then the furnace will get useless. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70537060 Millions of tons of glass is made worldwide every year. Car windows, tall building are covered with thick glass panels & windows, millions and millions of glass bottles and jars are made each year. So large amounss of fuel must be used to keep hundreds and thousands of furnace working 24 hours a day in glass making factories. To save fuel alternative to glass such as plastic and steel must be used for glass products. If possible glass must be banned worldwide. Look, where glass is truly not the best solution, then it will be be phased back or out without the need for top-down intervention, e.g., banning. That's the kind of thing free economies do well. However, those who seek to hijack the free economy, to mislead the population into believing that dictatorial intervention is required to achieve progress, are essentially economic parasites and should be driven offstage. |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 70537060 India 10/11/2015 10:22 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Old ancient glass furnaces need to ran 24 hours a day because they're old. New manufacturing of glass that's clearer and cleaner don't need to be ran constantly, such as Photothermal laser furnaces. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24957083 It needs 1590 Celcius to melt glass. So more fuel will be consumed in glass making factories. Plastic must can be melted at 200 to 400 celcius. |

Having said this, I believe that glass fragments are problematic in a world that seeks to recycle its waste...they are able to injure, and do not decompose for hundreds or thousands of years. So, eliminating glass for many uses IS a good idea, imo. |

You have 4x as many geniuses, and 4x as many village idiots. Interestingly rape seems to be a public sport over there. And what are untouchables? And the other 4 castes, explain them. |

Plastics are made by heating up oil at very high temps for sustained periods and refining it into different products, some of which can be turned into plastic. It takes a substantial amount of oil to be refined into plastic. While plastic can be recycled, the end product is only suitable for low-end products such as lawn chairs and decking. The fact that plastic itself is made out of fuel leaves your argument moot. |
Sungaze_At_Dawn User ID: 70246439 Canada 10/11/2015 11:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Glass is far better for us than any plastics, except if we used commercial hemp to make biodegradable materials. And there is no reason to worry about energy. Lets say it was done in India. Ocean all around. Tide, Wave power, infinte. Solar. Infinite. Oh and by the way, that is the conventional. Cavitation, HHO and the real sciences make this fake prison reality we've been enduring for the profits of the DuPonts and Rockerfellers make me want to barf and then throw them in dungeons. The Devil tries to convince everyone he doesn't exist. The state tries to convince everyone they cannot resist. Do not go quietly into the good night. Rage Rage against the dying light! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 65267488 Solar panels are also made of glass. I was talking about Homopolar Dynamo's or Unipolar Generators. They were Invented by Faraday, and Tesla has a Patent for one. Tesla called his the Homopolar Electric Machine. In America we have guys like Bruce DePalma and Adam Trombley. But you in India have Tewari. |

It is very polluting to the environment and unhealthy as a container to store foods or drinks in. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69474936 High grade plastics do not pollute the environment when it is burned. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAMN YOU BE DUMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
