just saw orange fire ball...meteor...something following a course
over virginia...moving 10 degrees or so east of north. Orange light following a course...almost could make out three dimensions...like a fiery basketball...flew overhead slowly and low, then as through it skimmed off the atmosphere...disapearred slowly into the night...took about one minute to traverse the sky.

this was followed three minutes later by a group of three in a more or less equilateral triangle.

My wife saw it firs and called me outside.

really cool...never seen anything like it.

Anyone else see it?

Orion was way down on the horizon towards the east. I am in Charlottesville VA and this happened about 10:!5 to 10:45 PM. Check it out on your sky-software and you will see this was coming from way out in front and below orion.

They were bright orange and directly overhead for us. Being in Indiana, maybe they were off to your eastern sky and lower? if so, maybe that is why they were red...lower in the sky?

Last night, I was outside just as it was getting dark, around 6:45cst and I noticed an orange light a little bigger than a star and brighter. It was northeast of where I was heading southeast. I was watching it and my husband came outside and I told him to look, it was headed toward what looked like a star and then all of a sudden it disappeared! It was a steady very bright object. I am in Alabama.

Re: just saw orange fire ball...meteor...something following a course
My family had seen something sort of similar to what you've described tonight in Canada. This object was round and orange/red coloured, travelling south to north. My mom had said it was about (minimum) 6 times the size of the morning star/planet low in the east. It was going about twice the speed of a passenger plane...made no noise, emmited no smoke, flames, etc. It was light enough to see a tail/trail of some sort if it had been left. They continued to watch it head north, until losing sight of it as it went below the tree line.

tell them to get into youtube and search for orange light in sky ...they will confirm they saw these types of objects.

Re: just saw orange fire ball...meteor...something following a course
I caught a glimpse of something orange streaking across the sky like a meteor while driving down I-295 south of Trenton at around 8:45 pm.

I've seen two fireballs prior to this, both were more greenish and confirmed as meteorite sightings.

This object seemed to move and fizzle the same, but it was orange and I didn't it straight on so I can't be sure, but I think it was a meteorite.

I asked them last night to search and see if they could find something similar (without any giving any direction or information from this thread) and I shit you not, she screen shot a picture from the first video you posted! However there was only one specifically that they seen. Has there been any explanation on what these could possibly be (besides UFO's)?

Re: just saw orange fire ball...meteor...something following a course
The first one was really large and it looked as though it was right over the treetops...big orange ball that had depth (3d). then about 3 minutes later three came over. They passed directly overhead and were traveling in a perfect straight line. I would guess 10 degrees east of north.

if i can find out how to upload a video I will do it. IF anyone wants to give me a primer on how to do it i would appreciate it.

Re: just saw orange fire ball...meteor...something following a course
For those of you who care, the orange glowing ball I saw on a course of about 10 degrees, and flew directly over my house, saw it from horizon to horizon (where it fizzled out), followed by three more a few minutes later in a more-or-els equilateral triangle formation,

was EXACTLY like this:

If you are wondering if I am serious, which you should be if you visit this site, then perhaps look up some other threads where I posted something with the handle above.

So this has caused me to look more closely into the October 21 date, the date the movie Back to the Future pointed to...

I found the following video that you might be interested in...I think the lady is legit but I have never really investigated her...I will say that I feel very comfortable listening to her reasoning through the various alternative interpretations of the bible.

Wow, is all I can say about what I saw...if REALLY PEAKED my interest in this meteor shower season. If you listen to the 9Nania video above, you will hear the proposition that the 9/23 craze could be 11/23, not sure of the accuracy but definitely willing to discuss.
