Many, many Irish, Scottish and Welsh slaves. They we rounded up from the streets and orphanages. many were owned by free blacks. The blacks treatment of the whites slaves was so horrendous, laws were passe that black and brown people could only hold slaves of their own complexion.

The first slaves in the New World were Irish (not indentured servants, but SLAVES), sent to work the plantations in the Carriabean. They did not survive well in the climate, that is when the slave traders got with the Arabs and decided to import equatorial blacks.

The first legal slave owner in the US was a black man in Virginia who owned another black man.
