Adultery
When you commit adultery, why are you maddened when your wife/husband/other half pulls the same stunt on you?
Marriage is a two-way street. I believe in traditional gender roles (the male is generally dominant yet nurturing) as well as heterosexuality over all other illicit forms of sexuality (though I don't want the Feds to mandate that either way)... But I DO NOT, I repeat (DO NOT) believe in hypocrisy and double standards.
What makes YOU more entitled than your other half, what makes YOU more worthy? Did you marry him/her solely for his/her social status and/or looks, or did personality come into play?
I'm not addressing one specific individual, or GLPers as a whole, just society because both genders are equally guilty of the same sins, same crime.
That's all. It might seem redundant and cliched, but the argument is just as valid.
Stay thirsty, my friends

No, actually, just a honest but morally savvy heterosexual male (they exist)
I fantasize about other girls but I don't act on my desires.
Cause deep down beneath my raging hormones, there's always my love for HER.

Re: Adultery
Maybe the spouse who first committed adultery is angered because he/she feels as if he/she made a sacrifice by staying in the marriage after the adultery was exposed?

People are selfish.

Exactly, great point.
But do we really have to condone that lifestyle and culture of narcissism when we could reach out to your loved ones more instead of only focusing on our own selfish needs?
Or are Satanic acts like adultery and narcissism the only way to go?

Re: Adultery
its very tricky, If you tell someone you forgive their adultery than you have no right to do it too. Cause it means you lied about forgiving them. I mean whats worse committing adultery and leaving your spouse or committing adultery and saying your sorry and want to save your marriage.

Agree wholeheartedly
I was more referring to two simultaneous cases of adultery, both are unaware of the other's, then are shocked and maddened to learn that the other is capable of adultery while struggling to avoid responsibility.
Responsibility, forgiveness and fidelity are key here.
Without any of the above, marriage is essentially rendered useless.
And social status DOESNT MEAN SHIT to any sane, stable, kind-hearted individual, only to bland bullies and sociopaths

These people obviously weren't mature enough to embark upon a marriage.

This reminds me of some female coworkers and acquaintances who go on and on about their BFFs and best girlfriends. My spouse is my best friend. If your best friend(s) are women, then what is your husband? A guy you breed with?

And I don't buy that bullshit about forgiving someone for adultery. You can forgive someone for hurting you and still hurt like hell!
