Hearing people talk about Russia as the world's military juggernaut is some of the dumbest shit I have ever seen because it's so absurd. What could they possibly base that on?? Not any verifiable facts that's for sure.

It makes it impossible to have any kind of meaningful conversation about the war and world in general because of the false reality so many here insist on delusionally living in.

The USA debt is a lot of smoke and mirrors. The fact is - we owe most of our 18 trillion dollar debt to ourselves.

We actually could wipe out our debt overnight.

Say for example, China declared war on us. All the US treasuries they're holding? Null and void. A couple of trillion, wiped off the books.

Then we wipe out all the fake debt that the various federal departments owe each other. Now we're down over 1/2 of today's debt.

Then there's the stuff we "owe" domestically to banks and whatnot. But we don't actually "owe" them anything - they gambled by buying the treasury bonds. So we just don't allow anyone to cash them in until we can afford it. There. Done.

All that's left is the pittance we owe other countries. Those that stay our allies, just hold the bonds like our domestics. Those that side with China - now hold bonds worth nothing.

There. No more debt.

I'm sure it's more complicated than that - but it's still a very doable scenario.

We're only in trouble if everyone tries to sell their bonds back to us. But that won't happen. Everyone is tied into the value of the US dollar - so if we collapse.....so does the world. (Which sometimes, I think would be the best solution. Collapse it all and let's start over. It'd be hard - but it could be done.)

OP - I agree with you on our military.

People just don't realize how tied up our hands have been since WWII. We haven't been ALLOWED to use our military to it's full abilities.

We had Iraq in a week. But TPTB wouldn't let us actually conquer the country and rebuild. If we'd followed up our invasion with boots on the ground in the numbers needed - we'd have been out of there in 2 or 3 years and wouldn't be dealing with this crap there now.

We KNOW HOW to do it. All we had to do was repeat what we did in Japan - but without the atomic bomb part. Conquer, occupy, rebuild, and give it back. And we also have the Marshall plan to help with the rebuilding. (btw - you're welcome Europe!)

Instead we've been half-assing it to appease people who have always insisted we're bullies and want to own all the landz!! We've been stuck as the police force - not the military might.

And just like the police - no one likes them until they need them...then they love them for 2 seconds - before they hate them again.


And even though I know our military can whip anyone's butt when they're allowed too. I'm concerned that our leaders from POTUS to Congress to the Joint Chiefs and alphabet heads - are kind of incompetent to run the show. Not only incompetent - because that can be fixed with experience - but more important, unwilling to go all out. I just don't know if they actually want the USA to be great anymore. They've let the UN get way too much decision making power over anything global. And unless they fight that part of the fight - we'll stay handcuffed as a nation and military force.

If you look at the two cultures in our country that have the biggest issues - blacks and native americans. What do they have in common? They don't have the genetic coding. Blacks that are successful here are the ones that do have the coding and emigrated here to get away from the same issues as most white Americans.

Life in America was NEVER easy. 1st wave immigrants worked damned hard to get anything. And how sad was it that a tiny one room tenement slum was an upgrade to so many of them? That squalor was BETTER than what they'd left behind?
