Quoting: Goofy for God [link to www.accuweather.com] Brownsville? That's pretty far inland. When I was there in the 70s it was about 20 miles inland if I remember correctly, has it sprawled out since then? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70051956 Me too! Drove through a brief heavy shower about 6 pm, but nothing since. Don't know if we'll actually get what's predicted, but it's supposed to get bad about 2 am. Glad to know there's another Midlander here! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 13820302 United States 10/22/2015 02:26 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In some areas it could be as bad as South Carolina, as add Tropical Storm Patricia to the mix, not looking good, Quoting: Anonymous Coward 13820302 "In portions of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana, the situation could turn out similar to flooding this past May in the same areas. It is also possible the situation may become as extreme as the South Carolina flooding from early October. A foot of rain is likely to fall on some communities over the span of three days or less. Patricia will approach as a tropical rainstorm this weekend, adding to the moisture." Anonymous Coward User ID: 70622405 United States 10/22/2015 02:57 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Over a week now the Texas Gulf Coast has had high water , need to watch and see if this is permanentya know like sea level rise Quoting: Goofy for God along the Bolivar Peninsula woke up Tuesday morning to water across Highway 87, much of it near where 87 intersects Highway 124 at High Island. 12News Chief Meteorologist Patrick Vaughn says easterly winds are pushing seawater onshore and causing coastal flooding. By Tuesday afternoon, it had receded, and to help the situation, the Texas Department of Transportation had crews place concrete barriers along the beach near the road. [link to www.12newsnow.com] I will try give the same lesson here as I tried to give for the east coast flooding and those that tried to claim climate change...pick up a history book...this area has always flooded, its what happens when live on an ocean or a river...and the longer a settlement is in place the more severe the flooding becomes..its called erosion and subsidence..for those that doubt..i will give a paraphrased recap of a los angeles county surveyor from early twentieth century..they calculated that in just 20 short years the valley which is vast had sunk some 40ft...40 ft of subsidence for hundreds of square miles in 2 decades..now imagine youre in a city or town that has been in place 100,200, 300 maybe 400 yrs..see TPTB are counting on the fact that most will never put two and two together to catch them in their well timed lie to sell climate change |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 29184782 United States 10/22/2015 03:25 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm on the west side of Houston. A little rain would be nice. ;) Same here. the little mini forest off of our balcony is very dry and the pond level is down. The young ducks took to swimming in the pool. Really cute. I'm so excited that I made a raincoat for my balcony flamingo. I hope the neighbors get a giggle. LOL Hwy 87 at the beach has always had spots that go under in extreme high tides and swells. That's why no one went 'parking' down there as teenagers. |
