Potentially catastrophic storm! Biggest Hurricane recorded! GLP can be a good place for up to date Conspiracy information or news, but it is also a spider web of all kinds of disinformation and hate. I wonder, is it possible that many of the people posting on this site are only here to make it almost impossible to try to find the truth? Not just fools and morons, but a focused effort to make this site almost useless? I think so. Quoting: Capt. Coltman 66148430 It takes some intelligence and time to sort through what is useful on GLP and what is B.S. I have no problem with people trying to track this storm and offer all kinds of opinions. But when people on here just hate people and say things like Mexicans are bad people...I hope most people know this is not how the average American thinks. I'm against illegal immigration and I don't like seeing Mexican people flood into this country without going through a proper citizenship process, but I don't hate people for being Mexican. In fact, I had a Mexican construction worker in Colorado save my ass one day when I was hiking in the mountains and I needed help. Not only was he kind and very helpful, he told me he makes enough money working in the U.S. to send money to his family in Mexico and they live a good life. I asked, "How good?" He told me about his town, his family, and the geography and he truly wanted me to come visit. I knew he was a good man and illegal in the U.S. but he was working his ass off 12 hours a day in hard labor. I can't blame him for trying to survive and working hard. But that is the point, he was working hard for a construction company in Vail, Colorado and he was doing the work most Americans won't do, and that is hard labor in the hot sun. I'm all for giving a person a temporary Green Card to work, even if we have many citizens who need jobs...but won't work. The Mexicans I know have been very kind, and work hard doing jobs like cleaning dishes in restaurants that would hire a U.S. citizen, but none apply. Lot's of lazy ass Americans who think their college education in Art History makes them too good for hard labor. There are some bad Mexican gangs in the U.S. but from my experience, they don't care about me because I have no business with them. I see a Mexican gang style man once in a while, and that's it...I know he is a bad dude, probably belongs in jail, and we look at each other and he might try to give me a tough guy look, and I just smile, while looking him in the eye and nod my head hello. He knows, I'm not his friend, but I'm not a cop, and I mean him no harm. I also hold my ground, alert yet relaxed. But someday, I can see an incident happen where one of these thugs and his pals want me to bow down to them. That day might come my way; but overall I don't ride the city buss, I don't stop for gas in bad neighborhoods, and I don't go looking for trouble. But African American's can be worse, much worse. Black teenage boys in the city act like dangerous thugs. They intentionally try to intimidate white people. They wear their pants hanging around their knees, and the act very gangster and dangerous. And these Black dudes can be a real threat. So, what is my point? I don't care if you are Mexican or Black or Chinese or from anywhere. I just want to see that you are a nice person, hard working, not a thug, and you respect the culture. If you are truly a refugee from war, I'm so sorry. I'm sorry. But you can't just come into the U.S. You can't. But with Mexico and Canada we share this continent and we can and do work together. But Canada is not flooding across the U.S. border (except in winter to go to Florida for a few months...and then they fly back in the spring). The Mexicans coming to the U.S. are simply poor people looking for gold...it's a gold rush. But the Mexicans who have money, they are not trying to get in. In fact, I was shocked to meet a beautiful redhead with freckles and green eyes who was Mexican and she was not happy with me when I doubted she was Mexican. After she decided I was not actually a bad guy she asked me, "Have you ever been to Mexico?" I said no. She shook her head in disgust. Typical American...I've never been to Mexico City. I know, I'm so bad..I'm so stupid and ignorant and I just don't understand. But, she did buy me a Corona because I said Mexican beer tastes like piss...and she said, "Drink this and shut up." OK. Free beer is good. I'll shut up. Inquiring Mind |

Potentially catastrophic storm! Biggest Hurricane recorded! ... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70243941 You're a rat infested failed state on life support. Someone saved you. We shall see how the media spins it and that will tell you why you were saved. So many of you yanks are so far up yourselves, it's no wonder you can't see daylight. You need a wake the fuk up call, and it's coming your way real fast. No offense to those of you who do have some morals, and have empathy towards those who live in other countries, who face catastrophes. The damage doesn't look too severe, but lives are still up-rooted and will be for some time. Good that there haven't been any reported deaths so far. With sincere respect, plzxplain, I'm not certain that you understand what many of us in the United States -- especially in the Southwest -- have to deal with, on an alarmingly frequent basis. Here is just one example of what I am alluding to: [link to www.abc15.com] (From the article: "PHOENIX - A drug suspect who fled police and subsequently caused a fatal crash was in the country illegally after previously being deported, according to court documents. Juan Diego Toscano-Delval, originally from northwest Mexico, told officials that he was deported after a 2009 drug arrest, then illegally sneaked back into the U.S., documents said.") And, here's another: [link to www.azcentral.com] I, personally, have been the victim of 3 separate, major crimes at the hands of Mexican nationals (who are/were illegally residing in the U.S.), now, and several of my family members have been victimized by illegal immigrants from Mexico (via identity theft, robbery, assault, hit-and-run, etc.), as well. You can't possibly understand how devastating, frustrating and nightmarish it can be to experience such things, unless you have experienced these crimes, yourself. When it comes to crimes committed by illegal immigrants from Mexico, in the U.S., true justice is rarely served. So, while I deeply sympathize with the plight of those in Mexico who are suffering as a result of this hurricane -- and wish them safety, protection and good fortune -- I think it's extraordinarily unfair (and uneducated, honestly) of you to be so dismissive of Americans. Truly, you seem to have absolutely no idea about what we have had to endure for countless years, and how greatly American citizens suffer, on account of Mexico. Illegal immigrants from Mexico can literally get away with murder (and other violent crimes), in this country...so why on earth is it that you think Americans "need a wake the fuk up call"? Americans have been more than generous and accommodating. If anything, it's Mexico that seriously needs to "wake the fuk up", now. It's about time that the government of their country starts doing something to help its citizens, so that they don't feel so compelled to trespass into America, break American laws, and harm & steal from American citizens, on a daily (and ever-increasing) basis. I totally understand where youre coming from, it's just that to me, living in a country where cyclones hit every year, and have taken many lives, towns, houses etc, (and I've personally experienced the after effects) I think people should put aside all the bitching and help those in need. Some on here just have no empathy or idea what it's like to lose your home, belongings etc and have no water or power for weeks, it takes months, or years for some to get back on track No news of deaths from this hurricane is great :) Americans will put aside differences and help those in need, as we always do when natural disasters strike anywhere in the world. It's not because it's ever reciprocated, either, and it will mostly be Christian organizations. Also, we, too, deal with hurricanes almost every year, sometimes more than one major hurricane, so we know what it's like. We've been lucky the last few years, but Americans know hurricanes well. We also deal with devastating tornado outbreaks every year over large parts of our country. Besides that, there are already more illegal Mexicans living in the US than there are people in the whole of Australia, so I'd say we have done more than our share of accepting the downtrodden, although I'm sure we'll be taking more as a result of this storm, if it becomes necessary, while Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Cuba, and the other Central American countries, as well as Canada, take next to no refugees while bitching about how cruel those nasty Americans are. Sure would be nice if these immigrants would behave more like our Australian immigrants and less like a lot of their Mexican friends. Katrins did NOT cause the levees to break. Katrina was GONE before the flooding started. It was the extra water in the lake, the extra winds from the outer bands COMBINED with the already weak levees that caused them to fail. The levees hadn't been properly maintained. Several already had leaking problems. Those levees could have failed at any time. Katrina just dropped off the extra pieces needed. BUT it did NOT cause the failures. And was long gone before the failures. New Orleans actually survived the actual hurricane pretty well.
