'Transformational Festivals!' Music // Yoga // Meditation // Spiritual Workshops: Have you been?!
Transformational Festivals are on the rise!

I've been to Lightning in a Bottle and Lucidity Festivals in California and a few others...

These would be considered smaller, more intimate versions of a 'Burning Man' type event but better. And I'll get into that later...

The first time I went to Lightning in a Bottle it did have an immediate affect on my outlook on things and kinda drew me into the scene. The music was the best music I've heard in years which was the major draw point for me. They also offer Yoga, Meditation groups, different types of Workshops aimed at building spirituality. Which is all stuff I'm into as well.

The music is mostly electronic. And I tend to be drawn towards the sub genres that have more bass & energy like PsyDubb, Bass Music, Glitch Hop, some Dubstep. I suggest checking out the group 'Desert Dwellers' they have an awesome vibe. Plus, there's many more amazing artists I'm sure lots of people here never heard, but would love their music. All these new sub genres of music are really confusing and has taken me a few years to start to figure them out as I was never really into electronic music before. And have grown up listening to Hip Hop primarily, REAL hip hop.

I still don't like house or techno music, which definitely seems to draw a completely different crowd at these festivals. They usually have 3 or more music stages so you can always find a sound right for you.
There are some festivals that focus on 'house/techno' more or only and they seem to have a more 'gay'/'fake spiritual' crowd. And that was the point I was going to make about Burning Man.

Regardless, these festivals are pretty awesome and I was hoping we could get a good discussion going about them... and who goes...

Thoughts?

Even been to a Transformational Festival?

Plus, who wouldn't like dancing to great music, hanging around a bunch of super friendly, good looking people. No matter what anyone says, it makes for a really good time. First time I met Molly was a lot of fun!

This is probably true. As these last events I went to, filled with 'supposedly' nothing but loving, peaceful, friends & hugging with everybody type people. I tried to make deeper connections. And as a real spiritual human being, I can say that I sensed being hated on by almost everyone I tried to connect with. And I did make a genuine attempt to connect with these 'spiritual' people...

i went to them for awhile and i kept catching bad vibes no matter the host/location.

just think... someone there invested A LOT of money to make that party happen. that someone is making A LOT of money off of you attending. that same someone is also probably getting at least a cut of the drug sales at the event.

the whole system just wreaks of gangs and organized crime.

I know for a fact the people putting these on are not selling drugs! That is just ridiculous. But the fake drug problem is for real. And its coming from China labs. People are selling bath salts and telling people its molly. I caught someone after watching the debunker video and bought their testing kit. This is something spreading all over America right now. Just like the cocaine boom of 80s. Its at the highest level of who's bringing it in and dispersing it. Festival organizer, NO WAY!

First few times was real molly. This last year, unfortunately there is a lot of bath salts being pushed as molly. I'm glad those guys made that debunker video on youtube. I bought their testing kit.

I also have been studying home brewed ayahuasca...

you just haven't dug deep enough my friend. i know for a fact the organizers of most of the underground events are selling the drugs.
maybe not the larger ones like lightning in a bottle, but the smaller festivals, tribe events, family gatherings are for certain.

you might not get it from the organizer/managements hand but i can guarantee you 80%+ of it is being supplied by whoever is in charge or one of his/hers close friends.

have you ever noticed how much of it just gets given away? how ridiculously cheap it is for those that do have money?? $5 can get you just about anything you want.

i used to be someone in the southern california scene until i saw it for what it really was.

I've been in that scene for a few years now too but starting to sense some of this shadiness. Never thought too much into the drugs at them. Thanks for the info.

I have no problem partying with a bunch of aliens, zombies, etc.

A lot of them are pretty cool. They should all just come out of the closet and be more friendly with the real peeps.

I do have a good time at these festivals.
