Drinking Kombucha Tea Eliminated My Psoriatic Arthritis Symptoms | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 66954576 United States 10/24/2015 10:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Why aren't you making your own Kombucha? I do, but I forget about it and by the time that I pour it off, it's too sour for my taste. It's not that hard to make. I don't brew the tea, I just throw 3 qt size tea bags into 1/2 gal of water and 1 cup sugar and let it sit in the frig overnight, remove the bags and pour some of the last batch in with it and top it off with the kombucha baby. I do believe it does good things for your gut flora, if you have diarrhea or something. OP, how about yogurt? |

It's possible and ridiculously inexpensive to make one's own Kombucha. After getting an initial starter it might cost $5 a month. Or, as you said, it can be purchased. It's $3.89 a bottle here to buy it premade. |

Use both the shampoo and the scalp therapy every time you wash your hair. It is very cooling and tingly. Lots of mint and menthol. You can also just rub a little scalp therapy on for flare ups. It cleans DHT off the scalp. No other product does this. I highly recommend it. Nioxin also works to clear up acne of the skin/face. It can be used as a facial cleanser as well, Best product out there. I'm a licensed hairdresser / skin expert and I have helped many people with this product. It is well worth the money. He is staying with us for the time being so we can give him his antibiotics through a PICC line in his arm for the next ten weeks. Since he is taking a harsh amount of antibiotics, we have been giving him kombucha everyday to add some good probiotics to his stomachs flora and fauna, so to speak. Seems to be doing great and he has healed so quick, not because of the kombucha though. However we did make this and have been trying it. Not only is it in a lot of food (obviously), but also in a lot of beauty products. She can only use Head and Shoulders Classic Clean shampoo and conditioner. She has to use all soaps and body washes that are gluten free. Something to think about, in terms of external issues. I am so glad you found something to heal you on the inside, and may you continue to have great health and heal the psoriasis! |
Crazy Harriet User ID: 72573295 United States 07/24/2016 12:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hello GLP, Quoting: Philip J. Fry Long time lurker here posting for the first time. Anyway, I've had psoriasis since I was 12 (I'm 24 now). I started to get sore knees when I was approx. 16, and last October I developed debilitating joint pain all over my body (visit my blog here for all the details: [link to kannonkombucha.com] Coincidentally, after drinking kombucha tea my joint pains went away, and now I'm back to normal! I still have psoraisis on my scalp and other parts of my body, but this has decreased with the use of Denorex and Neutrogena T/gel shampoo, so it's hard to determine the impact kombucha tea might have had on the scalp psoriasis. However, I am utterly convinced that kombucha is the primary factor in the remission of my psoriatic arthritis symptoms. If you are suffering from this condition, I highly recommend you try drinking kombucha tea for a week. You can find it at most grocery stores where I live (Safeway even has its own brand now). For healing purposes, I'd recommend GT's original ("alcoholic" version may be superior because it isn't pasteurized) because it is supposedly made of pure raw kombucha tea, and therefore has more beneficial probiotics and enzymes. I drink about 1-2 cups of the stuff every other day. I haven't yet experimented with going without for an extended period of time to see if there's remission, but my body feels so good right now, I'd hate to change my routine. Keep in mind, that I came to the conclusions I did after prolonged experimentation with some pretty radical diets and alternative treatments. I tried going vegan (except for oily fish), gluten free, nightshade free, diets zero omega 3 of omega 6 (forget which one it was, lol). Back in March/April on GLP, there was a thread that said drinking Borax dissolved in water had cured people of their symptoms. I desperately wanted this cure to work, but unfortunately it did not after trying it for three weeks (I didn't die either, like the haters said I would, so it might work for others, but I'd definitely recommend trying something like kombucha first before resorting to such desperate methods). Kombucha also tastes pretty good (to me). I hated it at first (tastes like vinegar in the raw form), but the taste definitely grows on you, and there are sugary/fruit juice mixtures available if you don't like vinegar. Anyway, my wip website www.kannonkombucha.com has more info. I made the site because I want to spread the word of the healing power of kombucha. But posting on GLP will definitely mean the info will reach more people, so I'm happy as long as this happens :). Thanks! Hope you guys get something good from this! It only tasted like vinegar if you let it sit too long, about 2 weeks. It changes after it is through, and all the sugars are converted. Try 8-10 days @70 degrees F (adjust for your conditions, it goes faster in the heat), and it will taste like more like apple cider. This is the way most people like it. It's good stuff. There's a fine book on it, that we used to get started with a couple bottles of live kombucha. Throw out the first batch, as a rule, and the second batch should be OK to drink. Watched it closely the first few batches and it's a fascinating process. Like having a jelly fish in the house. Started with Harald W. Teitz's book, Kombucha the Miracle Fungus and Rosina Fasching's Tea Fungus Kombucha. The latter describes her physician father's experience using the K with his patients. The first book is by an herbalist. We enjoy K in small quantities, about 1/2 cup a day. Used to drink lots of it, but after a decade or so not so much, just a bit at breakfast. It's great if you put the bottle you are using now in the fridge with shredded fresh ginger in it. Let it sit a day before pouring through a tea strainer. Wonderful. Also excellent with cranberry juice and grape juice. Good health is the only real wealth, and the bankers won't take it out of your account when you're not looking. It's a shame to see so many people suffering from chronic illness these days, when so much could be avoided. It could be part of some good potion, i was never an uneducated doctor but so many new strange things lately, maybe i should start being an uneducated doctor giving people the most of the strange things no other doctor applies too, would be fun anyhow, but a project is always a big expense, in time at least. I would like a bag of magic potions/things to cure all kinds of things that would really something to have and lots of fun. "Just take this and shut up about your incurable decease!" |

I'm gonna try that tea too, thanks OP! |

Crazy Harriet User ID: 72573295 United States 07/30/2016 05:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's not really a fungus. Just what it's called. It's a symbiotic body of bacteria and yeast that interacts with sweet tea to created a fermented product full of probiotics and vitamins. You might not like it, I have friends who love it and those who say it is awful. When it is over-steeped, and all the sugars are used up, it can turn to a vinegary drink, which is pretty awful. Sometimes the bottles for sale in health food shops have sat too long and that's what you get. Have made vinegar from apples, too, and it has to ferment fully before the vinegar process starts. Similar, and even tastes similar to good cider at about 1 week of steeping. Kombucha has about as much alcohol as orange juice, so don't worry about getting drunk. I made an apple cinnamon clove vanilla ginger flavored one last time, tasted like fall in a cup. My favorite is doing a 2nd fermentation with pear and ginger or raspberry, ginger, and lemongrass! The flavors are endless. My local grocery stores has a $1.49 area where I buy up the bruised fruit, and utilized into the kombucha. I also make milk kefir, and have made cheese with it. Fermenting is super fun and helps your body!!!! |
