Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 70516316 United States 10/29/2015 08:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Trying to increase the premium next year from $832.00 per month (now) to $1163.00 in 2015. A 28.5% increase. No pre-existing, never use it and as healthy as can be. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70516316 This is like carrying another mortgage. This includes a $10,000.00 deductible. I nor the other 2 covered have used this insurance since we bought it 5 years ago. I remember it was $438.00 per month in 2011 and that was with a 12K deductible. Open your ass wide open folks, you'll get the notices soon. I know it's gonna get tight, but at least inflation will be non existent. No one will be able to raise the price of anything. Should be 2016 |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 70516316 United States 10/29/2015 08:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | i knew it would happen. forcing health insurance cover pre-existing conditions is equivalent to forcing auto insurance to cover pre-existing damage from accidents before the vehicle is insured. it will get worse too. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70157753 I agree. This is not about healthcare this is about controlling inflation. With the way these premiums are going up people won't even have enough for food, much less raise prices or wages. (presto chango no inflation) That is a $330.00 per month hit. I'm telling you we never use it, because you have to spend 10K first. We rarely go to the doctor. If once every two years I would be surprised. Buckle up your big boy/girl pants. because this is coming like a freight train. The notices are coming in the mail the next 4 weeks/. |

He says if you don't have insurance or other means to pay they will stabilize only. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58670080 Hmmm...in most any large metro area, there are hospitals that get huge $ to pay for 'poor' people. In my city there's a large medical complex, very good too, that gets hundreds of millions to not turn away anyone who can't pay. Lots of community clinics, too. But yeah, definitely for profit hospitals will turn people away. But this is what Medicaid is for, for people without the ability to get insurance from employer or pay extremely high premiums. Unfortunately, some states greatly restrict Medicaid. |

Agreed, many posh doctors won't accept it, but it shouldn't be a huge problem finding those who will, unless you're in a rural area. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 52410732 United States 10/29/2015 09:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The ACA was written for the benefit of insurance companies and not for the welfare of the general public. The public is paying a premium to support several cash cow industries in the medical field. Its really screwed up because with tort reform and a few other things everyone could have health insurance for $100 a month. I thought the best simple medical system was Hong Kong before it went commie. 14% flat income tax no matter how much you make and you get free medical dental and burial, but if you wanted to you could buy your own health insurance and go to private doctors. Basically two systems. State run and private so you could do whatever you want. |
