Why are the sun and the moon always 180 degrees away from each other but...
You can view the full sun and the full moon at the same time.

Now I'm no Genius and I maybe getting this all wrong but, if we're on a sphere how would it be possible to view the full sun and the moon at a parallel of 180degrees?

Now I'm not just seeing things, I've literally seen the moon to the west and turned around and right behind me was the sun on the east.

Now like I said before I am not that smart when it comes to these things but if I was on a ball... how could the sun be directly 180 degrees from the moon and I can view both objects in their entirety?

Now I can understand if the earth is facing the sun (Day time) and the moon is near the sun like 40% difference that makes sense, but when I can turn around and see the moon, and turn around and see the sun 180degrees direction.. I stop and think wtf...

Now I'm not a flat earth conspiracy theorist.. but what the heck is going on here....

The Moon orbits the Earth. We orbit the Sun.

There is no gravitational gearing that guarantees a constant positioning between the Moon and the Sun.

(Actually, it's The Nazi's on the dark side of the Moon that are messing with your head. FTW!!)

The reason the moon is full is exactly because it's 180 degrees opposite the sun. The sun is illuminating the whole of the earth-facing side of the moon, so it's all lit up, and there's no part of it in darkness. This is. by definition, "a full moon".

They're not always 180 degrees apart. The moon orbits the earth in about 29 days, and that's what causes the phases of the moon. When the angle is 90 degrees, you're seeing half of the lit side, and half of the dark / night side, so a half moon phase.

You're writing as if you've never seen anything but a full moon, or noticed how it changes position in the sky...
