like thier name mentioned, and is one of the ways I use to stay safe from them.

Sad, so sad. It is a sign of the times and I for one am not surprised by the vehemence of the Rightwing poster that responded to the left wingerīs simple statement that we are all Americans.
We are, but we liberal folk must strive to remember that the right wingers are being fed volumes of hate filled ideas on too many conservative talk shows. They hear the lies over and over again in their cars on the long commute to and from work daily. They attend churches that use the pulpits to vilifile and denegrate the patriotism of others and to push agendas at them.
Itīs sort of become standard for me to think, "Father, Forgive them. They know not what they do."
We are charged by our faith to love one another as we love ourselves. To turn the other cheek to our enemies and let them strike us again and to love them and forgive them inspite of themselves.
Thatīs a tall order and a heavy charge to live with...to turn to the light and will love back at those who hate and abuse us.
Sorry. I will continue to pray for peace. Speak for peace. Lobby for peace and live for peace until my dying day.
This season of hatred and spleen will pass. Nothing in this world stays the same. Change will come. Letīs make that change, Peace and love for all.

I donīt know if that Titor shit is for real. I do know that there are some psycics who are scary acurate. I met one when I was 21 who told me the year and month I would meet my wife. 7 years later, to the month, I met Marla, my wife now of 18 years. Probably just a lucky guess, right?
I once represented a witch (a whole īnuther story) who was also pretty good at prognostication. Some of her stuff dealt with mass civil unrest and the need for me to move my family out of the inner city and to the extreme burbs. Perhaps even out of state should things deteriorate too far. I donīt know about all that, but then again . . . things donīt look too good now.
What if, while weīre playing the "what if" game, things deteriorate globally with continued war, WMD terrorist assault on the U.S., break down of the economy with civil unrest . . .
What would you do?
I for one would be looking for a red rural county in a progressive state, like somewhere in North East Oregon, way out in the boonies where the locals are no stranger to good budsky, good brewsky and good downhillski. I might take a big hit income wise, but half of my income is transportable where my physical location is of no matter so long as I can get mail and telephone service.
Makes on wonder, does it not? |

If you havenīt seen me much here lately its because Iīve been on an extended recon on poli boards. Because I work in government I felt the need to break out of my comfort zone here at GLP to see what people think elsewhere. And Iīm now damn scared myself. What we have witnessed in the last election should serve as a big time wake up call. I would suggest that those of us with even the slightest "progressive" thought process learn to wield a mask in public, even if just for practice right now.
My research leads me to believe that the same far right extremist wingnuts like the poster, who also insinuates a certain extremist religist bent, advocation not just open season on the secular left, but also advocate "re-education" camps for long term internment for enemies of the state. And you now know who the current "majority" view as enemies of the state. Yours truly.
Hunting the likes of me down will not be an easy matter, unless sites like GLP are in fact monitored closely, with IPīs matched to identity.
In the meat world, with my crew cut and blue FBI style Brooks Brothers suit, I flow in and out of the corridors of judicial power, making nice with members of the legal and law enforcement profession. I served 27 years with the military. On many matters, I hold rather right conservative views. On many other matters however, I hold what may be viewed by some as subversive leftist ideas, like equal rights, living wages, the right to be left alone, the right to choose the physician of my choice, the right to choose the medical procedure that my physician deems in my best interest. And the right for others to enjoy those same privileges.
Perhaps what others may find the most threatening, and the idea that I believe this country was founded upon, is the concept of complete separation of church and state. That is what separates me from the right, even if I reside a mere half step to the left of the line.
I am happy to denounce religist extremists, of all stripes, and to condenm all who would attempt to impose thier religist views on the rest of us.
To all, I say enjoy the blessed gift of a personal relationship with God. But by god, keep your religion to yourself! |
