The monumental mistake is in assuming this "evil" is contained in Syria and the middle east, and that it can be defeated there.

Soon there will be no place humans live that will not have this evil living among them, waiting, plotting, preparing to attack and martyr themselves in the process.

They are not just everywhere, they are recruiting and converting your own...

This evil is impossible to defeat, there isn't enough collective will to do what must be done to rid this world of it.
