2015 Flu shot, what we haven't heard!

Just got my annual flu shot. I'm asthmatic and always get it for free. I've been getting the shot since the early 2000s and it has never harmed me.

a natural immunity last a lifetime and aquired immunity, well doesnt work.

these vaccine fraudsters expect there to be only a single strain. thats impossible.

of course there is. its called a healthy immune system. thats why some of us never get the flu and never have had a flu vaccine.

i suppose youre going to suggest that an immune system doesnt attack the influenza unless youve already had a vaccine.

Where I live, every CVS and happy Harry's (one in everytown), last year it was simply free flu shots, now it's free plus they give you a prepaid card to use in store. So now they are paying you to get the flu shot

Not anyone! I gave my local government my home phone number they sold it to marketing company, ever though i requested they not share the info with anyone and being on Preferential calling service. Yeah I could take them to court, but you know id have to take a lot of orgs to court, and get very tired and bogged down with all that bs, i just want to live my life with my family, so had to change my phone number and register that 1 on P.C.S.

The shot is not a live virus but the nasal inhalation vaccine is. That's why so many more people get sick and spread it .

Yes they are - and nursing home and assisted livin residents dropping like flies- funeral director this lay spring hadn't had a day off in a month- bumper crop of dead- makes me go Hmm...

We had a bacterial illness in my family in late summer too. My son who caught it first came down with pneumonia. The rest didn't go that far, probably because we went to the doctor faster.

I don't feel like I'm hearing as much but we moved from a major city to a farming town so that could have something to do with it. I have an "improper immune reaponse" to vaccination according to my doctors so no one pushes it. I had a great rheumatologist that noticed I was ending up hospitalized within a week of any vaccine I got so she started running labs and realized my body just does not like being tricked into immunity :). Hubs and I were talking about the stats surrounding various vaccines the other day and basically decided we are going to continue to see a decrease in effectivness as more people get jabbed. There are a variety of reasons this could hapoen, but the one we really thought about was the general lack of common sense today. It used to be those getting the flu shot were mostly those in the medical field, chronic health issues, and workers more likely to be in contact with an ill person (such as a homeless shelter worker). These people are more likely to take other precautions as well such as good, frequent, thorough hand washing, and understanding isolation and avoidance when someone is ill.

Now days you have people like my cousin. Two years ago one of her 3 kids got the flu. She wasn't worried though because everyone else got the vaccine and the shot actually covered the strain the one kiddo had. So anyway, the sick kid went on to hang out watching movies, eating, and hanging out with the rest of the family. I caught the kid digging ice out of the freezer with his bare hand...right after my aunt ate a few crackers out of the same sleeve the sick kid had been eating from. No hand washing and tons of exposure. So then everyone else in the house gets sick and they are all convinced it can't be the flu because they were all vaccinated. My cousin sent her kids to school! Turns out they did have the flu (a milder case) but these Ivy League educated idiots spred it all over DFW thinking they couldn't get it. We have lost common sense concerning illnesses.

It has now been 9 years since I have been jabbed for anything. We take our shoes off at the door and wash our hands literally any time we enter the house. When flying we usually sit in the back of the plane and always wear long pants and long sleeved shirts (crap can get on those seats), Clorox wipe down seatbelts, tray tables, arm rests, and hard surfaces we will touch, then shower when we get where we are going and don't wear the clothes again until laundered. We avoid eating out and I actually time my grocery store trips to avoid crowds as well as trying to get a cart that is sitting out in the sun instead of waiting inside. We don't even take communion at church because so many people handle the trays. And if someone in our house does get sick they stay in their room and only use the assigned bathroom. We take food to their room and check on them, but they are door closed, stay the hell out of my kitchen isolation, until better. Guess what I'm saying is my entire household is very OCD, especially during cold and flu season, but in these 9 years we've had only 2 colds and no one else in the house got them. We are healthier than we've been in years. Oh, I should add that I'm a pediatric nurse and I have had literally 1 bug during this time. Again, common sense.

every clinic in my area that I called for a regular check-up has an automated message about how we should take the flu shot.

refuse to take that shit. I get a cold once every 2 years. Eat right, healthy immune system boosting foods and it's good! no need a vaccine that poisons me.

Like many comments here people I know who got the flu shot got sick after with flu or cold symptoms and it lasted for weeks or in certain cases.

At least your immune system will be strong. It is good for most of us to catch a cold/flu once in a while.
