"The Russians lacked the unity or military dynamism necessary to defeat the horde."

Not so much of a problem now.

The purpose of war is the same purpose as natural 'disasters'.

Who was he fighting? Everyone.

You see, Russia learned a bit from this experience. They incinerate towns and cities to try to impose their strongman rule and will on anyone in their orbit. But the Russian is not a Mongol. Genghis Khan would have Mr. Putin or any of the Tsars and Commisars in tears begging for their lives.

The Russians' nature is such that once he tastes the medicine he's attempted to learn to employ from others, he cowers and submits. This is especially true when that medicine is employed by those who developed it in the first place. The Russian does not have the requisite nature to do this. This is also why the Russian is not the savior of anything and offers nothing in the big picture of unfolding life. They are entropic pigs with just a bit of wild boar in them to seem something they are not.

The Europeans, not being Mongols either, never were able to conquer Russia for this reason as well. Neither the 'German heart' nor 'French mind' could do what had to be done to achieve conquest.

No. To deal with Russia effectively in war means to incinerate and exterminate without mercy or let-up. Not 1. Not 5. But 10's of their cities reduced to ash by any and all means. Green light on Russian anywhere and everywhere - hacked, flayed, blown up, whatever. A total, complete, non-linear, and asynchronous campaign of destruction.

The 'new' Mongols are the one's Russia fears - and they know they're out there. That they're coming...

The Russians are not unified in any sense of the word....
