Why "pump action rifles"? Are they cheaper to make?

I'm quoting the article. Obviously, the author doesn't know the difference between a shotgun and a rifle. For under $200 you can purchased a rifled barrel and scope. This turns that shotgun into a killing machine at 150 yards.

Pump action is cheaper and has fewer mechanical issues. Give me a pump and I can fire acuurately almost as fast as a semi-auto. You are pumping the gun as you squeeze the trigger, never taking the gun off of the target.

They meant "shotguns", not rifles, but journolistas know as much about firearms as they do about the Constitution and science.

I'm not a muslim, I'm just trying to be objective, something that's not encouraged on glp. And yes if they're shotguns instead of rifles then it's a much worse thing.

What keeps me up at night is the thought that there have been shipments of weapons and containers of rifles and grenades pre-placed all over Europe and the US. Just in time for the influx of refujihadis. They stroll in, disappear, form up in ranks at the planned rendezvous, crack the container and off they go. Fifth-column all over the countryside with no thought to self-preservation. Turkey and Russia are a distraction.
