What would you change about the Consitution to prevent tyranny?
to start I would remove article 1 section 8

I create an amendment STRICTLY enforcing a republican form of government.

subsections of that amendment would include requirements for schools to teach about government, politics and the illusion of democracy.

I would word the language of the second amendment much more clearly to guarantee ownership of arms by individuals.

I would forbid associations among government employees.

I would outlaw lobbys and political contributions.

and that's just off the top of my head

what would you change or add?

1. Get rid of the Electoral College Voting System.
2.Ban Lobbyist's.
3.Fixed Flat Income Tax Rate.
4.Force a Balanced Budget.
Ski now, work later.

O to grace how great a debtor daily I’m constrained to be.

Any elected official convicted of taking bribes or attempting to corrupt the voting process should be executed.

Death penalty for not upholding their oath of office - defending the constitution.

A single one year term for a House Representative, a single two year term for a Senator, a single four year term for a President. Senators elected by the legislatures of the respective states. Include a definition of what it takes to be deemed a "citizen" verse a "subject".

Re: What would you change about the Consitution to prevent tyranny?
Absolutely nothing,no changes ! Restore it in the fulness of it's integrity. The2nd. amendment is quite clear to anyone, that we are guaranteed the RIGHT to bear arms,to for a militia, etc.

I would, if a representative, move towards forming a committee to review all laws,Federal, and to urge that states follow also, and begin to retire them or bundle them into the reduced core value of them so that there is no wiggle room about the essense of them. The manner of construction of new layers addressing these core values is designed to entrap some but many times to allow for mischievious manueverings in others.
I would also address statutes and forfeiture laws and most likely eliminate them entirely and move to keep the administration of remaining streamlined, simplified, easily understood laws with oversight to see that they are fairly and equitably regarded and enforced irrespective of societal lows and highs. And in the final analysis, this too would ultimately fail as we are ungovernable due to greed, power hunger and corruption. No Utopia, not until God reigns and even then He has told us there will be those who will,as Satan did,not tolerate that perfect world and believe they can do better,so He will separate them accordingly.

if it was good enough as is we wouldn't be in the mess we are in right now. It's become quite obvious that the subtle and sometimes ambigous language can be easily subverted by word magicians.

Re: What would you change about the Consitution to prevent tyranny?
To which mess are you referring? There is absolutely no problem with the Constitution it is the ignoring of it that is the problem and the attacking of it,too. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights are the securing documents which guarantee the freedoms we say we are fighting for not the ingnoring of it or the tearing down of it,that is balderdash, just plain old fashioned crappola, barnyard litter. There is nothing that can replace it other than the final comments regarding God eading us,nothing has been formed which better served mankind and promised more than these documents and that is exactly why they are under attack and uniformed citizens who bow without a fight to the pwers that be that attack our security, our real security.

Talking abou CHANGING the constitution is not the way to go. RESTORING IT is what is needed. None of these laws of oppression, passed in the past few decades, are constitutional. What we need is:

COMPREHENSION of the constituion
RESTORATION of the constitution

and, most important -

AN IMMEDIATE REFUSAL OF THE PUBLIC TO REGOCNIZE THE TREASONOUS BASTARDS AND THERIR SO CALLED LAWS.

Resist, don't cooperate, don't acknowledge, THE ENEMY.

ok you keep believing in fantasy, if it was so complete they wouldn't have been able to twist it to their will to the point that they can say it means whatever they want to. Obviously this point is lost on you.

Re: What would you change about the Consitution to prevent tyranny?
You have yet to answer or state and build foundation upon your remarks,so lacking any credible arguement, methinks the one upon whom the argument is lost is you and you fantacize apparently that tearing it down, disrespecting, it moves us into some stable form of government or some objectively better place than we have for 200someodd years occupied? That is pure poppycock and drivel. It is these documents for which lives have been lost in the effort to further them and protect them and which was the primary attraction of people from all over the globe to wrap around themselves for the assurances they provided. I'd like you to be the greeting committee for the returning troops when they arrive on these shores and tell them how you forsook their guarantees by destroying the Constitution. I bet they will shake your hand, with admiration of your homeland fortitude.

It's not a consitutional issue. You are in neck deep in invisible commercial adhesion contracts with the king.

And the contract says you pay income taxes.

And a contract trumps the constitution.

You signed, you pay.

Now see if you can guess what you signed????

Executive orders need to be ended. That gives too much dictatorial power to the President.
