Is the Comic Con a conspiracy?

Is the Comic Con a conspiracy? Basically all the comic books, tv shows and movies, etc... are owned by evil corporations. This means that when all the nerds gather at Comic Con they simply worship the symbolism of the corporations who provide all the material. I see Comic Con as another instrument to control the masses. Basically Comic Con means that you have to spend money in order to ha fun in a consumeristic society.
