You're not going to like what I say, it's not good news.

My family owns a number of rental properties so I have dealt with many disputes. What it comes down to is this, If the early opt. out is not on paper and signed she has no legal obligation to honor it. Yes, on a moral level it is wrong but the law will be on her side. Unless specifically stated otherwise she can also require you to pay all moneys left on your lease and hold your deposit as you would be in breach of contract if you choose to leave.

I would advise that you get a copy of your states landlord tenant hand book. If you can prove to a judge that the landlord has violated any law or failed to honor their responsibilities to you may have a case to terminate the lease early. If you decide to do this you need to have your ducks in a row, judges are far more likely to favor the property owner.

As far as the albums? Once again, nothing on paper then you have no recourse. This really stinks as I'd have paid a pretty penny for that Beatles vinyl.

Go on your county's assessment website, type in your address,
And the informatiin about the house and owners should be there. If not call the tax office and get it.
