some work friends of mine found their friend/coworker in the woods just 2 days after he went missing

Can't say for sure what animal did it. Might be bear, wolf, wild dog, or even a boar. And BTW, I don't think the guy is "somewhat brown", I think its a caucasian. The darnkening of the skin after the rottening procces is natural

When I lived in Anchorage, we used to sit at the pub and warn tourists. I could tell by their facial expressions they thought we were exaggerating -- we were not. Every year I was there, a couple tourists got killed by bears, and at least one would get killed by a mama moose -- don't pet the baby moose!!! Damn it!

Yeah, bear for sure. Wolves would have ripped him apart, more than one eating at a time there'd be bites missing from arms/torso. Cat wouldn't eat him out in the open like that, and wouldn't start at the legs I think. Bigfoot wouldn't have left so much behind, if anything at all. Could it be a wolverine? I kinda doubt it but they'd certainly attack at low height.

Ravens and crows will take down any carcass to nothing and strip it clean fast. Once one arrives they seem to tell all their buddies. They circle the object and roost in the trees around it. I have seen a hundred show up within an hour to eat. Especially in winter when the red coloring of blood shows up really well.

Deers in the ditch and tons of crows. Even had a Golden Eagle fly up as I passed the corner right over my truck.

or like the dude that was killed up near where we worked , the bear ate all his clothes. ate everything but his work boots.
the boots were still tied on his feet.
but all his clothes - skin - & muscles - were cleaned completely off his bones. he was only missing 20 hours

RCMP & rescue told us the dude up near james bay that was eaten clean except for his boots had 4 different bear tracks around him
2 big bears & 2 little bears

the 4 bears (probably a family) feasted on him

Bears can be tricky sometimes
some can be friendly as can be
others can be totally different (dangerous aggressive)

ive seen black bears in the thunder bay ontario area that were very playful - just like your own pet dogs

so far ive been lucky not to personally encounter an aggressive one

ducks
wild turkeys
etc.

ive never ever heard of a wolf taking down a human.

Being in an area with the type of bears that do this, James Bay, far North in most provinces, etc, is the only reason to open carry pistols in this country(that is allowed).
